What Will You Do If Dl Resigns Ty???

Probably been asked, but would you extend Corbin right now on the condition that he coaches the team to a bottom-five record this year?

No. Because I could fire him and give Lowe a nice "tax-free" bonus to do the same as an interim coach. With no incentive Corbin has almost coached the team to a bottom-5 record.

But yeah, I guess we haven't really seen what Ty can do with a healthy team and 3-4 decent subs. Need about 5 more years to evaluate him, IMO.

Hehe, how risky would it be to tell a coach to basically lose games? Can you imagine years down the road if Corbin or Lowe told ESPN?

Kinda funny how much we talk about these possibilities without considering the real-world implications. :)

Well, you can outline it differently. Tell Lowe he needs to play Clark, Thomas, Lucas, Rush, etc. 20 minutes each per game because the jazz need to evaluate whether or not to bring them back next season. Tell Lowe you want to see those four + Gobert for the last 8 mins of every game; again, under the pretext that you need to see how those players will react under pressure. That was the GS model.

What about Mark Jackson last year?
It was totally obvious he was trying to lose games.
Was that his own idea? Or did GM tell him to lose?
No action was taken against Warriors.

It's fine if it's totally obvious. It only gets bad for the Warriors when Mark Jackson himself goes on record with it.

I'm sensing sarcasm here. We had that last year. Had probably the best big man rotation in the league, and one of the league's best benches, and still we didn't make the playoffs. The team suffered the worst home loss in franchise history to the Rockets and fell apart on the road when we were in the 6th seed, bumping us out of the playoff push.

Yes, it was dripping with sarcasm, especially given my many prior comments about Corbin.

But someone on Jazzfanz told me that Corbin has coached this year cast of garbage players to a .500 record. That's an amazing feat...right?

Hell no.

My wife and I love the Jazz, we went to 12 games last year. So far this year we have only gone to 4. I can't justify paying money to see a team play so poorly. If Corbin is brought back next season I'd be surprised if I went to more than 1 game next season. I know I'm not the only fan that shares the same logic. The FO would be really really dumb to bring Corbin back.
Jazz are 14th in attendance this year, which is a pretty big drop from where Utah has been historically. That figure alone should get Corbin fired but I won't rest easy until I know he is gone
