What will your reaction be if Mo returns to the Jazz and Corbin starts him over Trey Burke?

"For example, consider the situations of Utah’s Mo Williams and Brooklyn’s C.J. Watson. Williams has been a scorer throughout his career, and is coming off a bloated contract that paid him $8.5 million last year. Watson, meanwhile, was a backup point guard who made less than $1 million last year. Williams averaged 12.9 points, and Watson 6.8 points.

"Williams is an inefficient offensive player and bad defensively. Watson is a very good defender and though he doesn’t score the way Williams does, he is more efficient offensively. Because Williams has more of a reputation as a guy who puts up points, in past offseasons, he might be able to command a decent contract this year. But look closely at the numbers, and despite making nearly nine times as much as Watson, he was not a better player."

Excellent article!

Roll with it. I expect it will be explained he won't automatically be starting; has to EARN it, just like Burke does. There are better playmakers available tho', so we'll see.

I wanted Mo back before the draft. I wanted the team to draft Olanyck or someone like him to back up the front line, and then pick up a couple of backup points with other picks or free agency.

However, now that we have 'stolen' a mid lottery talent point guard, I say no. Sorry Mo, I like your energy, but it just isn't going to work out for a rebuilding team with a rookie point guard that the team specifically moved up for.

On a side note, for all the Jazz talking, they didn't once in the entire draft select the 'best player available'. The targeted specific players and snatched them up, all three picks.

I think Burke WAS the BPA at #9. And Gobert was likely who the Jazz thought was BPA. In fact, they probably thought they got a steal at that draft spot. Neto? Who knows. They wanted him and obviously felt he would be drafted at some point. And they got a pick from whoever was willing to sell one.
