What would happen?

There have been quite a few rumours about the Jazz trading for Jeff Teague or Jrue Holliday. If they do end up trading for one of these guys what would happen next year when Dante comes back? Could they have two starting point guards? What do you think?

Exum would come off the bench and be able to develop at a better slower pace after being out for a year with an ACL injury.

Exactly. One of the greatest PG's of all-time - and he was a lot older (22) when he began his career - took 3 years before being given the reins as the starter.

Edit: He actually split the starting role in year 2, then moved back to the bench his 3rd season. Point is, it didn't hurt Stockton's development to be a backup, It's not going to hurt Exum to learn behind Teague, Hill, Holliday or whoever the Jazz may trade for.

Stockton played in a different era. Contracts are shorter and players change teams a lot more then when Stockton was a rookie.
