He's the 7th best 3 pt shooter in the league right now according to https://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/3-points
I'd trade him for a salt packet, a straw sleeve, or some ketchup from one one of those sacrament cups (probably couldn't get a packet for him). I'd even buy the receiving GM a 1/4 pounder w/ cheese like how Golden State gave us two unprotected first round draft picks and all those second rounders to take him, because they realized having him on their roster was pointless.

I'm not that foolish, but maybe that optimistic.
In reality, I'd take anything. Hoping someone offers a second round pick and a waiveable player for him, but I'd gladly settle for a waivable player just to free up the minutes for our core guys.

The problem with trading Jefferson, is that there really isn't a "bad" contract out there. Here are the top salaries in the NBA:

Yes, a late first or second would normally be the compensation. Problem is, unless a team has cap space, they have to give salaries back in a trade. I already made a thread showing the player(s) that are close to what he makes and might be available in a trade. The list is very, very small.
Teams wanting a player like MW or RJ can find one for $4M, easily covered by trading 1-2 scrubs. But at $11M, it's almost impossible to match salaries UNLESS the Jazz take on a bad contract. And that's just not worth doing for a low draft pick, not when that $ comes off the books and DL can go after 1-2 quality FA's.
Only way I see a Jefferson trade happening is for a quality veteran from a rebuilding team in which we give up another asset. Frankly, though, I don't want to see any of the core-5 included, nor a player like Gobert. And even the GS pick should net Utah a decent player in this draft. For once in the last several years, I'm actually in favor of the Jazz doing nothing at the deadline. Freeing up $30M+ is likely far more valuable than what can be had in a trade.

NY would trade Stoudemire in a NY minute. Ain't nobody got time for Amare Stoudemire's busted *** knees and uninsured salary.
If the Pau-Okafor deal with Phoenix and the Lakers falls through, I could see Jefferson going to the Suns for their playoff push in exchange for Okafor and his coveted and insured contract. It would basically be a money save for Utah and maybe they can get a future second rounder out of Phoenix too.
Personally, though, and I know I am in the extreme minority, but I wouldn't mind Jefferson for Eric Gordon. It is a big contract, but by the Jazz have room for it and it expires at the point when big extensions would kick in for Kanter, Burks, and Burke. Jazz could easily support a big money payroll of Gordon, Hayward, and Favors for two seasons. Backcourt of Gordon and Burke, with Hayward at the three and Burks off the bench looks good to me.

The dollars should be close to working so what do you guys think about trading the expiring contracts of Jefferson and Biedrens to New York to help them financially and maybe make a playoff push in a really weak Eastern Conference. They send us the final year and a half of Stoudemire's contract and a 1st round draft pick or two. It sucks a lot of next year's cap space, but we have the flexibility and get a 1st round pick or two out of the deal. Amare might even play some next season.

It does look like that deal will fall through as Gasol is still hobbled. I think Phoenix has enough wings, but you never know. Okafor and the Wizards pick for RJ or MW.
Eric Gordon is interesting, but why would NO want to trade a starter? They're not desperate for cap space. If anything, they's want to undo the mistake they made with Tyreke.

Lindsey would be smarter to use cap space for either a quality FA or whatever assets he can acquire as a facilitator in the LBJ sweepstakes.
