What's new

What you sippin on?

An Ogden Pub I like to frequent has a menu of shots named after Beatle songs. One night I stumbled across the "Helter Skelter". It's a double shot. Half Jäger, half tequila. It sounded SO gross that I just had to have it. The waitress acted as if I was joking when I ordered it. That only strengthened my resolve to ruin my evening.

4 shots later, mission accomplished. However, it does put hair on your balls. Pics available upon request.

I would have had to try it too.

I was tailgating at a ute game and someone gave me a shot called a 252.... bicardi 151 mixed with ice 101.
Damn, that will knock your dick in the dirt

Is that the stuff that's like half grapefruit juice? I've had it and it's GOOD. I also had something similar that had just a hint of grapefruit and it was good too.

Had something last night called Ahati Red or something like that, with a hint of raspberry. It wax good too.

And I usually don't care for fruity flavored beers.

correction: it was ABITA - Purple Haze - I liked the Jimmy Hendrix connotation. It was light and very good. Would have been a great summer beer, but still good on a wintry day in mid-November

Just wanna say the aeropress makes a damn good cup of coffee.

I use the upside-down method

And use water at about 195 and let it sit for more than 30s usually. The same grounds used in my drip coffee maker (not exactly a drip, the Bunn Phase Brew maker) don't have anywhere near the same flavor. All that without being overly bitter, or even bitter at all, really.

I've been drinking the coffee at full strength lately and for the first time in decades a few cups gets me jittery, so I backed off.

What's better or different about the aeropress than the French press? One thing that seems cool about the Aeropress is that it would be easy to pack for travel, right?

What kind of grind do you use for teh Aeropress?

not much. I make it every morning before I leave for work because I'm *****-whipped... but only partake maybe once per week.

I've never used a french press. I think they must be pretty similar. The areopress comes with a nifty travel bag and, yeah, could easily take camping. I grind very fine. I've broken a lot of the rules as far as temp and time for the steep and can't seem to make a bitter cup of coffee with it. Love it, tbh.
