What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

The beauty of Captain America, to me, though, is what he's able to accomplish with bare hands and a (stupid?) shield.

I mean, considering the special powers of everyone else around him, he shouldn't even BE a captain, he should be more of a foot soldier.

This article describes another one of my questions about the movie: about how CA seems completely different ideologically.

OK but in the earlier instalment "The Winter Soldier", remember how Captain America was forced to question the authority? SHIELD was supposed to be SOLID but due to Hydra's infiltration, SHIELD was inherently corrupt....

So it follows that following that bad experience with authority he questions the UN oversight, etc... I thought that's a pretty consistent stance for him to take when you really think about it.

I would describe WS as him fighting the idea of organizations who answer to no one; making everyone accountable; creating transparency; putting the power back in the people's hands.

But in CW someone tells him that the Avengers are killing tons of innocent people and they need to be put in check and let the citizens of the world have a say in how they operate. So of course he responds with, "NO GUIS WE'RE AVENGERS WE ANSWER TO NO1!!! **** THE HATERZZZ!!"

(but I do see what you're saying lol)

Captain America has super powers too. He was injected with some serum or something in the first captain America movie giving him super powers of some sort.

Yes I know that he has 'some' special strength, speed and stamina, etc, but he sure isn't the incredible Hulk though.... it's not like he can kill people with 1-punch.

Speaking of the incredible Hulk, where was he in Civil War? I thought he was in the original Avengers movie wasn't he?

Hulk ran away and disappeared at the end of age of ultron.
No one knows where he is.

See, if someone would have actually died the "bad guy wins" point would have actually had a more visceral impact. Like just kill Hawkeye. The dude is boring AF and isnt getting his own movie.

And you really don't have Deadpool above the Hulk movie?

Deadpool isn't part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He's owned by FOX which means he could show up in an X-men movie although the tones wouldn't mesh.

He was already in wolverines movie

He is the big great 'merican character bro. He needs to lead. You can create God itself in the storylines. 'merica will still lead. Gotta feed the young populations with that subconscious nationalism, you know.

X-Men: Apocalypse

Probably one of my most enjoyable X-Men in recent memory. It just had a bit of everything, a bit of History with the Egypt storyline, then we get a glimpse into what made each of the X-Men who they are today. A pretty powerful bad-guy to keep things interesting and I really did think at 1 point "how in the world are our good-guys gonna beat this bad guy"?

It had a GREAT finish as well (unlike the Avengers whimper at the end).

A great and enjoyable watch if you've got about 2.20 hours to spare.

Don't get the comic book movie love. After the TDK trilogy, everything is so far inferior. Everything else reeks of money-making and lots of explosions and action--just pure dumbness. I do have to say the newer Cap'n America looked solid though.

I'm thinking about seeing that tonight but will probably end up seeing neighbors 2. My wife would rather watch a comedy and we liked the first one.
