What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

LMAO, yeah I heard that a lot about people hating it opening night. People expect to see a different movie. I usually really dislike time pieces because of the dialogue, but I thought this movie did a really good job of making the dialogue work without it being too straining to understand.
Same. It wasn't as scary as I was expecting, but overall I thought it was interesting filmmaking. It's kind of feministy in a totally bizarre way.

I just really liked the production. The music/camera work/acting. Super simple story and the pacing was kind of meh early on, but it was so well done it made it work.

Yeah, I can't think of a horror movie of finer cinematic craft made in recent times. House of the Devil is the only thing that comes to mind for me, but The Witch is better. I guess Let the Right One In was good too, but I watched that so long ago that I don't remember much of it. Maybe I'm just totally blanking on other good horror movies from the past decade.

I saw "The Finest Hours" last week, a true story about an oil tanker rescue off Cape Cod in 1952. It was somewhat suspenseful, but not a great movie. It's always nice to look at Chris Pine and Eric Bana, however.

House of the Devil was the one made recently that totally has the 1981 vibe, right? Solid flick.

Someone mentioned The Witch to me the other day and it's on my list to see. It has definitely intrigued me.

I've watched a couple of films since the weekend...

First, Crotty mentioned the first one I saw a couple of years ago in this thread. Blue Ruin (2014)

Blue Ruin - A slow burn bloody intense revenge film. It was a little slow at parts, but there is a ton of tension and buildup. Pretty good, but not great.

****ing A. I thought it was great.

"A slow burn bloody intense revenge film" is spot ****ing on. Wow.

96% on RT.

I also got to see La Jetee (1962)

I don't think any of the trailers I came across did it any justice so I am not going to post any of them. It's a movie made with no moving images...only stills and it's not long as it's runtime is only about 1/2 an hour. While the movie is considered romantic in some sense it's main subject is that of time travel. That's all I will say.

92% on RT.

Deadpool.
Very highly recommend.
Hilarious. As funny as any comedy. Ryan Reynolds was perfect for the role.

Anyone saw 10 cloverfield lane yet? I might go see it today. Looks awesome.

10 Cloverfield Lane was cool

Anyone plan on seeing Batman v Superman? I expected bad reviews, but damn, 36% on RT is crazy. I was going to see it, but I don't really want to sit through a 2.5 hour bad movie.

Batfleck is the only thing good about it apparently. Zack Snyder is not the right guy to hire to pull something like this off.

I will watch Batman vs Superman just to compare it to Age of Ultron. To see which one is worse.

Superhero scene is getting pretty tiresome with almost nothing original.

That's what I've heard as well, which is hilarious considering the fuss the fanboys made about his casting.

Prisoner

If you enjoy David Fincher type movies (Se7en, Zodiac, etc) then I think you'll really enjoy this one. It's TOP NOTCH.

It's on Netflix.

Absolutely loved this movie. Fantastic acting, really creepy story, lots of twists that i didn't see coming until right before they happened. Fantastic movie.
