What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Watched Split. Not terrible, but closer to bad than good. Good for a Shyamalan movie though.

I have to agree although I haven't seen the last 2. "the happening" scared me away from Shyamalan. Such utter garbage. It was literally the first movie I ever saw that made me feel cheated out of my money. I felt like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story" when he deciphered the radio message with his little orphan Annie decoder ring.

I wanted to like it but the story just felt really empty and bland. It was just OK.

Watched It Follows. I hadn't heard about it before seeing it on Netflix. I kind of liked it. But unlike Stranger Things, I felt the 80s aesthetics were out-of-place and tacked on, with no purpose other than to present the movie as a tribute to John Carpenter and other similar 80s horror filmmakers. Nonetheless, it was a genuinely "scary" movie with effective storytelling.

Just want to say that the last two times I saw a movie at the theater (split, why him?) 2 things stood out.
1. The seats! Super comfortable, electrically reclining, tons of space. Made a huge difference and really improves the movie going experience. I never really go to the movie theater anymore due to all the cheap easy ways to watch movies now. Those seats might tip me back to the mindset of spending my hard earned money at the theater.

2. Both movies showed a trailer for the new wolverine movie coming out soon called Logan. Fantastic trailer. I don't know if the movie will be that good but the trailer blew me away and I love the song in the trailer and it fits perfectly with the trailer.

A lot of theaters have remodeled and taken out seats and upgraded to those kind of seats in the past year. The theater closest to me is in the process of doing that now.

And I only ever go to movies in their last couple of weeks being shown. I hate crowded theaters, almost always a bad experience with kids on cellphones or people talking.

I usually go to matinee to avoid the crowds.
I saw split in the second weekend it had been out and there were only about 15 other people there.

One interesting thing i read about the movie Logan. I read that hugh jackman took a pay cut in order to ensure that the movie would be rated-R

I liked this movie a lot, Villeneuve is one of the best directors today, and he proves it yet again, Amy Adams is fantastic.

This is one of those WTF did I just watch movies, it is very odd to say the least. I was getting a Wes Anderson vibe to it. While I enjoyed some scenes(especially early on in the movie, the first half is much much better than the second) I can't say I would recommend it. The film doesn't seem to have a point to it other than to just bask in it's weirdness. And the characters don't feel like real people at all so I found it hard to keep myself engaged in what was going on .

I always go to movies Monday Mornings. About 9:30 check the seats sold for the 10-ish am showings. If the seats are empty, I get in the car and go to the movies. It's great.

Are there many people if at all who goes to the movies on a Monday morning? Just curious...
