What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Redboxed two movies over the weekend:
The Tourist

Kind of slow and a little on the boring side.

I liked this one. Even the wifey said it was much better than she expected.

I liked that one too. Anything that let's John Malkovitch play the ****ing lunatic psycho he really is is a win in my book.

Yep I came into this movie expecting to be unimpressed. But I really liked it. And your spot on with Malkovitch, he was spectacular in that role.

I saw Arthur last night... it was really funny if you enjoy Russell Brand. If you don't enjoy Russell Brand, don't go.

I laughed for 20 minutes straight in a dead theater. There were at least 15 quote worthy one-liners. Like any comedy though, it's not for everyone. Most the people around me seemed embarrassed they were watching a movie about a guy who drinks non-stop and calls his elderly nanny names. Also, the show went downhill when it became serious.

I vote for, 'Franklin's Colon'.

Just stay off the liver. I need that.

Have you seen the Dudley Moore version?

Watched a couple of political dramas over the weekend. Streamed via Netflix.

Unthinkable

Nothing But The Truth. Loosely, very loosely, based on the Valerie Plame hub bub.

Both were pretty good political dramas based on current events. Unthinkable gets pretty intense at times and is very heated.

Probably one of the better films I've watched and by better I mean absolute worst. Kinda sad what I do when I can't sleep.

I think my favorite part of that poster is the "in select theaters ... for a limited time only." Like it's some exclusive art film.

To get on a hobby-horse of mine, I assume Archie watched that crap-hole of a film because it was on Netflix Watch Instantly.

In the meantime I've been waiting for Netflix to carry any of the following films for over a year (and in some cases several years):

Sleuth
Sons of the Desert
Significant Portions of the Harold Lloyd Comedy Collection, including "Safety Last"
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy
We're no Angels
It Should Happen to You
Hands on a Hard Body
and Saint Jack

Several of those movies are considered classics but are more difficult to get ahold of via Netflix than a movie starring "Big Show." A ****ing crime.

Last night I watched 'Let Me In'. Whenever I watch a remake of one of my favorite films, I try my best to forget the original and judge the new film on its own merits. I think that's only fair. After all -- the new filmmakers and actors must have loved the original as much as I did; why else would they be compelled to do an English-language version? As a remake, this movie is acceptable.

If 'Let the Right One In' is a 10 out of 10, this one is a 7 out of 10.

The main thing it was missing was the crotch shot. (This is not Jazzfan joke-speak. I'm serious.)

Sadly, I didn't watch it on Netflix. I streamed it on my EVO via newmovieseverywhere.com

I recently watched "Get him to the Greek" and found it stupid. It had it's entertaining moments, but the film seemed centered around out-shocking all other similar films in the past few years. There was a quasi-anti-drug message I guess and the guy at the end gets his girl, after the other guy had her screaming "OH GOD" in his face. Yeah.

That whole scene with the 3-some made me uncomfortable. I liked the show other than that.

Yeah the 3-some was definitely the low point of the movie, and wholely unecessary to the plot or story. In fact for me it was so contrived that it wiped out what remained of my enjoyment of the movie. (hence the thought that all they were trying to do was "out-shock" any previous similar movie)

Kinda like in the Robin Williams movie "Awakenings" which was very well done until the nurse burst into his office and yelled "It's a ****ing miracle!!" That was just so out of place that it took me completely out of the movie.
