just completed my game of thrones start-to-finish-binge so it's back to the Movie grind soon enough.

Kicking it off with -

Just read the graphic novel. cool story. ppl have HEAVILY borrowed from this over the years..

Cries and Whispers '72 up next. I know Bergman said this movie and Persona were the films he made which he thought really were his best use of the medium of film to tell a story. Or to use the camera to capture things that words could not, something like that.

I watched I, Tonya yesterday. Brilliant acting by Robbie and Janney. As far as story goes... no matter if you believe that Harding was a villain or not, you do feel some sympathy after understanding her upbringing and what kind of abusive childhood and life in general she had. Highly recommended.

I watched Ant Man & Wasp. I liked it, found it funny and not too forced on the jokes.
I fully expect most of y'all to hate it because I liked it.
Fair is fair, I hate most of the ones you like.

I’ve noticed that the marvel are so much better then DC movies. Ant man is solid, just like most of the other marvel movies I’ve seen. DC on the other hand, not so much

Was the Batman trilogy (Christopher Nolan version) DC though? They were the best movies of the bunch and I love all the avenger movies.

I don’t think so. Nolan did say something like it’s it’s own universe, indicating it’s different from what Snyder did.

The Nolan Batman is bad *** by the way. So much better then the current.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Great movie. 5/5. Gilliam's brilliance seems to go over many heads. This **** is great.

Reminds me a lot of; The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen

Intense and insane. About a woman from south africa who was attacked by 2 men, taken to a remote location, raped, disemboweled and almost beheaded, and survived. Gut- and heart-wrenching and worth a watch. Once.

Definitely not for kids.

Oh yeah, on amazon prime.

Woah man, thanks for that disclaimer at the end. After I heard rape, disembowelment, and a near beheading my first thought was this is perfect for my kids. Now I know better.

Lol. How graphic is the disembowelment, and exactly how close was she to being beheaded?

They depict it in shadow, but the violence comes through. She was close enough to beheading that she had to use her hand to hold her head up straight so she could see to walk.

The actual attack was only maybe 1/5 of the movie. The rest was on her recovery, trial of the attackers, and her life after.
