What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Goon is one of my favorite sports movies that doesnt get mentioned enough. Very brutal, funny, vulgar movie. Stifler nailed that part. Great supporting performances , especially Schrieber.

Saw JoJo Rabbit this weekend. Great concept, less great execution. Didn't toe the line between comedy and drama very well imo. Was too funny if that makes any sense. It was so funny that that sad parts almost lost their sense of sadness or felt completely out of place. The mom was underdeveloped as a character also. Didn't go into any depth as to why she was doing what she was doing or really anything about her other than she was the mom and was sympathetic to the jews for some reason. So the big scene, you know the one if you've seen it, lacked the gut punch it was going for imo.

Really entertaining, very funny, but kind of disjointed in parts. Does much better as a comedy than a drama for sure. Sam Rockwell and the little fat friend were the best parts of the movie. The main kid was also quite good for this being his first film.

7.5/10

Just watched the Japanese movie One Cut of the Dead, and it's one of the funniest things I've seen in a very long time.

I suppose you might categorize it as a zombie horror comedy, but that's not completely accurate, the movie kind of switches gears about halfway through and makes all the kind of odd things in the first half make sense. I don't want to spoil it any more than that because it's a movie everyone should see with as little knowledge going into it as possible.

Highly recommend.

Watched 'Crawl'. That silly gator movie you might have seen the trailer for. It was fine. I was hoping it would go more over the top than it did. But there was just enough there. Found it was done by Aexandre Aja he did the french extreme movie 'High Tension'. Surprisingly no stupid twists in this one.

Also re-watched 'Best worst movie' a documentary on Troll 2. Still good. George Hardy is the most likeable dentist in the world. And you can't piss on hospitality, I won't allow it!

I watched Crawl not too long ago and remember nothing about it.

Saw Apollo 11, a documentary with unreleased footage of the mission to the moon. The film footage was ultra high quality. It is a simple film that documents from launch to splashdown. I never understood the series of executions to land and take off from the moon. Fascinating stuff.

The new Netflix doc called "Fire in Paradise" was pretty damn intense. Its about the Paradise fires in Northern California that killed 85 people last year. Only 40 min long so quick and to the point. Really intense survivor stories, cell phone footage, etc .... Definitely worth a watch.

Watched X-Men: Dark Phoenix after all the delaying I could do. It's as terrible as they said. Everything feels disconnected. There is no chemistry between actors. Plot is just all over the place, there isn't enough time for anything to settle. You would think a funeral would slow down things, establish emotions but damn, everything just goes faster and you never really know why anyone is doing whatever they are doing. Dark Phoenix had so much potential. It's just disappointing.

Problem with so many superhero movies is that they never really go all the way. There is this space power but what is it? Why can't Jean control it? How does that affect her psyche? They just don't delve into anything and let some ideas float around. Did we really need the aliens?

I can come up with so many questions but I wouldn't want to put more effort on a post in a sports forum than people making a movie.

Honey Boy the Shia Labeouf auto biographical movie was fantastic. So so good. Shia is an amazing actor and obviously a writer. Highly recommended.
