What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

I disagree. I teach middle school and have students who look more mature than she does. That and the gratuitous violence at the end definitely warranted an NC-17 rating imo. The end freakin' scarred me.

I didnt think it was all that violent, its nothing compared to lame *** horror movies like hostel and the sort ... I also thought she wasnt really 12 but was just saying that because she was retarded but what do i know .... I stand by the fact that I have seen much much much worse in R movies. The chicken scene was awkward to say the least.

In context, I felt the last minute of the movie was worse than any graphic horror movie I've seen. Just crazy. The dialogue during it made it infinitely worse for me too.

I just didnt get it I guess, I mean I really liked the movie I just thought the NC17 was BS, not that it matters at all.

Well, I finally watched Inland Empire. Surrealist film is something I've become rather interested in recently, but don't feel like I'm educated on it enough to really "critique" this movie. I'm not totally sure to what extent you even can critique surrealism on a logical level since it's not necessarily even supposed to be logically coherent. But yeah, watching this, or anything truly surreal, is quite the experience--and that's basically the whole point (I think), to create an emotional experience with some intellectual/philosophical ideas expressed in the mix, perhaps. Inland Empire in particular has more of a horror aspect to it than most, which I enjoyed, and feel is something the realm surrealism can approach in a very effective and unique way.

All I can say is that if you want to experience something you didn't even know existed, or feel like you're on drugs without actually doing them, then give something like Inland Empire a shot. But be warned. If you're not familiar with David Lynch, even the first five minutes will be the biggest WTF moment you've ever experienced in a movie.

Maybe this will help explain what I mean...

And that's just one frame of a 3 hour movie.

I like David Lynch, Mullholand Drive is one of my most favourite film of all time. But even Inland Empire is too much of a stretch for me.

I know there is a place for a film like this. But what's the point of making a movie that only 0.00000001% of the population can comprehend?

I just don't see the point to be honest......

Finally saw Django, damn **** damn that was an entertaining movie. Chris Waltz is the man and for being the creepiest son of a bitch out there Tarantino can write a hell of a script.

DDL is just about the only good part of that movie. But no, that performance does not stack up against my brilliant avatar

I still say Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York is his best performance, but Plainview is probably just as good.

If any of you are down to see a horror film that will make you soil yourself, then look no further. Definitely one of the best ones I have seen in a very long time.

Just watched Bones Brigade on netflix. Worth checking out - especially if you were a teen in the 80's/early 90's.
It follows Tony Hawk, Guerrero, Caballero, Lance Mountain, and Rodney Mullen and the evolution of skateboarding. I found it very entertaining.

Any other docs worth checking out on netflix? I have about a week straight of auto cad work to do on the computer and it's nice to have something educational going on in the background to keep me sane.

Sinister sucked, a few semi uncomfortable moments but a lazy *** story and a lazy *** ending. Insidious was much much better IMO.

Saw OZ last night though, and that really sucked balls. The first 15 minutes were pretty entertaining and then it just started to be ****ty. Skip it.

The Place Beyond the Pines was fantastic. Kind of similar to The Town, but a little more subtle and human. If you can find it definitely go see it.
