What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

I saw Thor: The Dark World Saturday and really enjoyed it. Darker than most Marvel movies, but yet somehow had at least as much cheesy humor too.

Ender's Game. Total ****. Good book though.

Unfortunately this is true. It felt more like one of those 60-second movies re-enacted by bunnies than it did a big-screen adaptation of one of the best sci-fi novels ever written. Thoroughly disappointed. The good thing is, it was so crappy it will not be able to replace any of the mental imagery I have from reading the novel. The very best thing in it was the representation of the hive-queen (how she looked physically). And Kingsley did a decent job as a truncated version of Rackham. But that was the problem, ultimately, the entire move felt truncated. It would have been better to be presented as 2 movies, like Kill Bill. Instead of cutting Kill Bill down until it was unwatchable, he just split it into 2 movies which worked well. Would have worked for Ender's Game too.

That was my issue as well. I took my son to watch it. I haven't gone to watch a movie, except when dragged to a kids movie, in about 12 years. I hate movie theaters but really wanted to watch this one with my son. I was disappointed but my son thought it was pretty good. I figure it's the disappointment from reading the book. The movie wasn't terrible but there were so many times I felt like they didn't set-up the plot points properly and just jammed them in there. This really did need to be 2 movies to do the book justice.

Could have been so much better.

Grownups 2. One of the top 10 worst movies I have seen. I torrented it and still feel like I got ripped off.

Anyone see captain phillips..... the tom hanks movie?

I wanna see it and was curious what others thought of it

I was supposed to see The Conjuring this afternoon but my babysitter's car broke down last night.

Despite the soft R I doubt my 8 year old son is ready for this stuff.

Eight is too young in my opinion but it was pretty scary and I am an old man.

Agreed 8 is too young. We watched it as a family for halloween, and my 12 year old daughter found it scary but still slept in her own room. It is just good old fashioned ghost story scary, not a slasher/shocker so it is much more watchable that most of the crap that passes for horror.

I saw over the last few weeks...

All Is Lost
Salinger
Gravity

All were decent watches...def recommend.

Watched this with the fam last night:

Incredible_shrinking_woman.jpg

My wife had never seen it, and of course the kids hadn't.

Other than the way way way over the top slam on capitalism and the nauseating 70's color schemes and styles, and ridiculous plot to "shrink the world" it is still pretty funny and a simple, clean, fun one to watch with the kids. And it is kind of amazing all of the bigger and bigger sets they built to make her look smaller and smaller. Without any computer animation at all, they pulled it off to make her look like she was shrinking reasonably believably. It was fun.
