What's your explanation for early OKC success?

Why does Kanter look great in OKC

Kanter gets man of the game and end game interview in his 2nd. He did a really good job out there. Let's see how things roll until end March.

WHAT??? How was this trade a win-win for both teams? How many points, rebounds, assists, steals have we gotten from the people that Kanter was traded for? That's right none. The Jazz may never get a single point for the worthless assets OKC traded the Jazz. The draft picks may never make the team and the Jazz may never convince a free agent worth anything to come to Utah next year. In 2017 cap space is worthless since all teams will have max capable room. When it is all said and done this trade will go down as one of the worst in Jazz history and that is not hyperbole.

WHAT????

This is Jazzfanz. Not 'Players-Who-Are-Painfully-Slow-On-Defense Fanz'. Go talk about it over there. Dude doesn't play for the Jazz.

All these threads need to be closed and locked. 'Kanter' needs to be censored.

So. Much. This.

Addition by subtraction. He did not fit here. The team has played better without him when he was hurt this year and right after he was traded. They got something for a player that they were better off without. That is a win for the Jazz.
.
I'm less sure it was a win for Kanter though. I think he is going to be hard pressed to get more minutes for OKC than he was getting in Utah. And he is going to be hard pressed to match the #'s he was getting here once everybody on that team is healthy. He does not care about winning. He cares about his #'s. It's been reported he was happy here as long as he got his, no matter the outcome of the game. Once Adams, and Durant are back and healthy I wonder how Kanter is going to get his(minutes and playing time).

Kanter will have bad games and you are free to post what you like. As a jazz fan since they moved to Utah I am resigned to move on an cheer for the team. I just can't stand it when janfanz posters bash the guy for no reason or claim that this was a "win-win" trade for the Jazz. It was anything but a win-win for the jazz. The Jazz got hosed in this trade. The assets we received for Kanter suck.

I love the Jazz and I am ready to watch Gobert dominate. If the Kanter haters will stop with the irrational hate, I believe the Kanter threads will disappear.

Everything about this post is dead wrong. The assets don't suck. And the hate for Kanter is his own ****ing fault. This thread was posted by a Kanter troll, not a hater.

What assets should DL have received? What team has those assets? Then what happens if they are not willing to give it up? I think the problem is your expectations.

We are going to have to agree to disagree.

He fit with the Jazz fine. 14 points 8 rebounds in 26 or 27 mins. a game as a 22 year old still learning the game. Yeah that sucks get rid of him for some used toilet paper.

There are reasons beyond Kanter why the team didn't play well. Our backcourt may have something to do with that.

The something we got for Kanter appears to be cap space. If we don't sign a great player in the next free agency period this trade is a total bust. The Jazz did not get anything close to Kanter in return and I wish people would stop saying win-win. OKC won big and Utah has an opportunity to maybe get a player in free agency. That not a win-win that is a win for OKC and a hope and a prayer for utah.

And your whole last paragraph just ignores reality. Playing for OKC is major exposure for Kanter. Playing with Westbrook and Durant means he is no longer called for traveling or moving screens because refs believe OKC is a winning team. Kanter is not the focus of a defense. Teams run to Westbrook and Durant leaving Kanter all alone to rebound and put up bunny shots. His offensive rebounds will go even higher, his assists will go up passing out to better shooters. Kanter is going to thrive in OKC. At least for the rest of the season.

Did you forget he showed himself a cancer and malcontent? He had to go. He is an entitled bitch. Can we just move on?

Bite me! I've never been called a troll. I've probably been a Jazz fan longer than you have been alive. People just making crap up to feel better about a terrible trade. Kanter was a cancer, etc. We got equal value in the trade. Its all nonsense.

Tell me what the Jazz are going to get out of the trade this year that will show up in any box score. Zero, nothing, nada. The Jazz will not get a single point, rebound, steal or anything this year. The Jazz may never get anything out of this trade. I hate it. But then again I valued the points and rebounds Kanter can provide.

No, I will not move one when people like you call him a cancer and malcontent. He wanted to play more for the Jazz and that makes him a bad guy? He requested a trade to a team that valued him more. I do not blame him at all. If people stop bashing him, people that liked him will not feel the need to defend him and then we "Can just move on."

Do you value team chemistry? Do you value wins? Do you value defense? Watch the games not the box score.

Move to general sports please.

And Enes is like a man who just got remarried after an ugly divorce. He is working hard to prove he is a good man and everything was really her fault. Some guys really change. Some guys settle back into doing the things that caused the first divorce.

I suspect Enes will make every effort to be a good husband for 8-10 weeks. But watch out when OKC has to talk money with him or after the contract is signed.

Just because a divorce happens doesn't mean that both the husband and the wife are bad (husband). It doesn't even mean 1 of them is bad. Could just not be a good fit.

Lol, gotta love out of context assessments. The Jazz didn't trade happy-go-lucky Enes Kanter under contract. The Jazz traded disgruntled, annoyed player who wanted out and whose contract was expiring and who we were going to have to pay 8 figures in the summer. Now if you ignore the fact that he was going to be a pain in the butt to deal with as a 3d big, if you ignore that we had to pay 8 figures for a third big, if you ignore that he was refusing to pass and his defense was less than stelar, then yah... sure... Utah screwed up in this trade. The choice wasn't that though...

The choice was:
1. Trade Enes for what we got
2. Lose him for nothing in 3 months if he gets an offer we don't want to match
3. Match an offer(most probably 8 figure one) for our third big, who made it clear he didn't like his "inconsistent minutes"(a brief check shows that they were not more inconsistent than any of our bigs' minutes), who wanted more minutes and he wants out. How would have Enes reacted when he got benched, I wonder?

So yah... pick your poison. None of those options is great and the trade in a vacuum is pretty bad return, but when you actually take context into consideration I think we did alright in it and this was probably the best option.

I said the thread not the post was made by a troll. I said this to refute your claim that if the haters would stop complaining the Kanter posts would go away. So I did not call you a troll. I just think you are wrong.
.
What they get from the trade this year is more minutes from a superior player (Gobert), And more minutes from a much better player for Chemistry (Booker) And the development of players playing together that actually want to be here. The assets they got are almost irrelevant. But getting a 1st and 2nd round pick for a guy that was already on his way out the door is a win. Getting a decent looking young player from Europe in the deal is icing. What makes it a win is the team chemistry and the improved on the court play right now without him. It's not all about his #'s.
