When Memo Healthy - who do we sit ?

I think Hayward & Evans have proved their worthiness of regular minutes. Evan if it is only 6-12 a piece.

When Memo comes back are we just going to rotate these 2 for DND ?

Playoff roster can only have 12.

Yet another decision.

Well considering Memo is garbage, I really don't see why we have to sit anyone, other than Memo, even when "healthy," whenever that is. He's been nothing but a cancer on this team thus far. Always injured and absolutely zero contribution and chemistry-killing. Very nice guy though. So I guess I still like him.

You've got to feel for the fella Memo though. He has yet to play above even 50% of his full level and it remains to be seen if he can ever get back to it. If he ever gets back to being able to play, his floor spacing ability is still one of the potent weapons the Jazz have. In my book he and Nowitzki are the best big-man shooters. And that is always an asset. If he returns he should be taking more minutes off Millsap (who has declined in production every single month since December) and Elson. We may not see Fes.

But if he doesn't return to full strength then I have to say Fes should be given his minutes. Memo would be too much of a liability on defense. He has looked very slow and sluggish in the times he has played but his shot is still sweet. I really wish the guy will regain his fitness and confidence, if not for the team then just for himself. He must be pretty shattered right now.

I would officially apologize to KOC if he somehow found a way to trade AK/Memo before the deadline. I feel even if he basically gave these two away we would win long term.

Holy cow people give the guy a chance to heal up. He has hit more last second game winners for the Jazz that past several years than anyone else. He is literally the only consistent outside threat we have anymore. He is a solid part of this team, good chemistry guy, and would compliment AJ and Deron like no other player we have. Everyone has shortcomings, but Memo has a skillset that isn't equaled by very many big men in the league. He is returning from a devastating injury. He might not get healthy which is sad for him and eor us. An achilles rupture would floor any of us for a very long time, and he is fighting to play again. Give him at least a tiny bit of credit and respect.

not only has the team seriously deteriorated since his multiple comebacks, i think what it really comes down to, is the guy will never be worth his contract. it will be a thorn in the heel of jazz fans until trade day/retirement.

Reputation'd for good post.

Memo Okur

Off the court: Nice guy

On the court: Washed up

So count me in with the majority... Once Memo is healthy, Memo should remain in a suit. (or better yet, in another team uniform)

Proof?

I think Memo does a lot of good things for the Jazz when he is 100%, however he may never be 100% again, let alone this season. I don't think the Jazz can withstand the continuous adjustment periods they have to endure by trying to work Memo back into the rotation and still compete for good playoff seeding.

I like Memo, but sort of feel like he doesn't belong in the equation right now. Its actually kind of hard for me to type that.

Since Milsap and Jefferson like to take up the same space under the basket, if we can get a healthy Memo, they should spend less time on the floor at the same time. Jefferson should be a power forward anyway.

Memo is the new Harpring. He will be injury plagued until he retires and takes over Steve Brown's sideline reports and we have to hear is weird chipmunk voice.

Is there any chance Memo realizes that he is never going to truly "recover" and in the off-season chooses to retire? Honestly, he already is married to Ms. Turkey, he could go back to Turkey and live like a king for the rest of his life never having to worry about working out again. If that happens = we would have both AK's and Memo's crappy contracts coming off the books giving us 30 million to work with(I could be wrong but I think Memo is 13 mil, and ak is 17). I know not every free agent wants to come to the party mecca known as Salt Lake City, but playing with the best pg in the world, under a HOF coach and in front of arguably the best, most faithful crowd game in game out would have to draw some people.

You know... anybody who knows something about anatomy would have been very concerned about Memo hurting his back while he was trying to play himself back into shape after this kind of injury. I'm adding this to the seemingly-sub-par-performance list we've kept on our trainers.
