What's new

When will Ty Corbin grow the balls to bench Bell?

Id say when we get to about 0-6

Better question is when will Millsap start or when will Jefferson get benched.

Obviously something will change sooner or later because that line up sucks

Legit Q. I'm curious myself.

I understand giving him the benefit of a doubt, but it's past time already.

When it becomes evidently clear Burks,Miles, or Howard are ready to start. None of them have proven they are capable of starting.

Or if we just suck horrendously a change has to be made just to shake things up. I see Jefferson or Favors being benched in favor of Millsap happening first though.

I'm not sure what you are watching, but every player on the Jazz have already proven they are better than Raja Bell. I would even start Kanter at the two over him.

A lot of people talk about having to earn the right to start and play. What has Raja Earned? He hasn't given a single good minute since he has been in Utah. Why doesn't Bell have to earn anything?

I think Raja sucks as much as the next person. I think he starts because he really doesn't make any clear mistakes (other than just sucking in general). Burks and Howard are new, but they may eventually take Bell's spot. I think Corbin is set on Miles being the bench scorer.

Corbin should take care of Bell a la Al Capone in "The Untouchables" at the next team meeting.

Send a message to the rest of the guys.

Is this an argument? I honestly have no idea what you are trying to say here. I really think this has to be a move to kind of broadcast Raja Bell for a trade. I don't know any other reason why he would be starting and playing as much as he is. Maybe because he is a smarter player? But that shouldn't really matter because he just can't play

How has Bell earned the starting job? What does he do so well that separates who from these guys?

Just the fact that he knows what he is doing. Doesn't make mistakes. Knows how to space the floor well. Burks will have to learn how to do these little things to take the starting job from Bell.

I hope you all realize that this will never happen. In Corbin's eyes it's, "We just need to work better as a team is all."

That is the problem. You can't point to one player and say "Oh, he is the reason we are doing terrible". It's the team as a whole that is doing bad. Benching Bell at this point isn't going to change anything.

Bell makes tons of mistakes. He doesn't look smart, savy, or anything you want from a vet out there.
Burks can do things today Bell never could. In my book he brings more to the table right now even with the amount of learning he needs to do.

In a perfect world you want Burks to have to earn the spot a bit more, and fight for it. I get that. Right now though letting Raja play is setting a horrible example.
I'll take Burks playing a little too early over Raja's spacing of the floor lol.

Bell isn't just an anemic offensive player, he's currently our worst wing defender. This is what kills me. He's living on a reputation that doesn't exist anymore. Benching him outright and dividing the minutes between Hayward/CJ/Howard/Burks is the fastest and easiest way to help the team. I'm guessing it takes Ty 20 games to see this, but I have real hope it will happen in 10.

Raja "spaces the floor", which is laughable. If I was defending, I would dare Raja to shoot the three. ****, I'd dare Raja to shoot anything. If Raja was not a veteran, his *** would have been waived a long time ago.

Keep your chin up and dream, kid. I think Corbin is set on miles between the Jazz and Miles after 64 more games.

On Raja, let's give Ty a training camp to teach Burks and Howard his system. I won't be surprised to see Howard start in 3-4 games and then Burks minutes pick up around the 12-15 game mark.
