Where are you politically?

I am curious where people really stand politically. So if you have a minute and want to know where you really stand please take this test and post where you ended up on the political spectrum.

https://www.politicalcompass.org/test

I am dead center on the left/right and 2 notches down on the libertarian side. This is interesting to me because there are NO candidates anywhere near where I stand on most issues.

What I find most scary about this entire test and system is that both parties are well above the center in terms of Authoritarian/Libertarian and both Right of center on the left/right scale.

I'm ignorant when it comes to most politicians, where they stand, their beliefs, etcetera, and I could care less. At the end of the day, I don't vote, don't complain about our system, and don't bother myself with getting into it like many of you. That's not a knock, it's an observation. If you feel your dedication helps, I honestly commend you. But for me, they're all corrupt beyond belief. And it makes almost no difference who we vote in (at least on the Presidential level) because the corruption goes far beyond anything he or she can "fix."

Rome 2.0.

Based on this test I fall thusly

Economic Left/Right: 1.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.46

That said, some of the questions were whack and the choices made were based on very limited information.

I'm pretty close to Ghandi...
I have no clue what it all means, but I'm glad I'm closer to Ghandi than some of the others on the chart

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -5.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.64

This. Plus there were questions where things like the use of absolutes (always/never) influenced my decision as much or more than the question itself. I took it twice just to see if it changes, and I took it as fast as I could without thinking too much about the questions. I'm thinking of taking it again and noting the questions where I didn't have a clear first choice answer (there were quite a few).

My first inclinations:

Economic L/R: -1.12; Social L/A: -3.59

Second go-around:

Economic L/R: -1.12; Social L/A: -1.69

Another problem was in the wording. Some of them almost came across like:

"It is better for all companies that ever existed to make billions and that we let children starve instead."
"I hate everyone who isn't exactly like me and never want to have anything to do with anyone different from me."

Well, duh. If those are the choices few rational adults will pick the former over the latter. But I suppose that was the intent, to make it more polarizing. On the whole an interesting exercise.

Here's what I was when I took the test last. Me and Log are pretty identical according (me a bit more left, which also seems right, no pun intended, as well) to that test, though I'm also guessing we arrived at that point from a few (if not many) different answers, and I agree the questioning is somewhat flawed.

But I agree with the others that the questions were iffy, like the one about a one party government having a speed advantage because they don't have opposition. How can you disagree with that?

I believe that people are generally too plain or too stupid to make good decisions with their lives, EXCEPT with money.

What I find interesting about this is that our politicians and the political parties in general are much more authoritarian then we are. Pretty much everyone who has answered has been libertarian leaning. Also if you want an interesting read you should consider reading this.

Basically explains that our classic liberalism in America has been attacked by both the right and the left and with it our liberty diminished.
