I disagree with you on the "lock" by the Clips and Nuggets for 4/5. Really, I don't see either as significantly better than the Jazz. Same with the Grizz. I think you have a 4-way battle with only a few games separating 4th from 7th. Minnesota may sneak into the playoffs. Obviously, they took a huge hit with Love going down. Guess that means AK and Williams will take over the PF spot. Let's see if all Kirilenko needed was a return to the 4 spot.

I'm always overly optimistic. I'll say 52 wins for the Jazz and the 4th seed.

I think only OKC and Lakers are guaranteed spots (1/2, either one can take one of those spots). The other 7 spots are up in the air, I wouldn't be surprised if anyone from the Spurs, Nuggets, Clippers, Jazz, Wolves, Grizzlies finished 3,4,5 and so on.

I don't think things will be quite as up in the air as you suggest, but I think there will be a dogfight from 5-10. I would put tier 1 as the Thunder and Lakers, Tier 2 as the Spurs and Clippers, the fun and exciting Tier 3 as being the Nuggets, Jazz, Wolves, Warriors, Mavs, Grizzlies, Tier 4 as Portland, Phoenix, and Sacramento (teams that will be mediocre-bad and won't ever be in the playoff hunt), and Tier 5 as the Hornets and Rockets who will battle for the West's worst record.
