Recent history (the most relevant history) says that teams don't sell first round picks anymore.

The last pick that was sold was Rudy... a second round pick went back too, but that is the last one that was primarily cash considerations. If teams were giving them up "easily" there would have been one sold in the last 4 years.
That was also one of the worst drafts in the last 20 years. And again, it was cash AND a second-rounder.

Jazz trade:
Hood
Rubio
Burks
A second round pick

Phoenix trades:
Bender
Dudley
Monroe
One of their first rounders this year
Too much stuff. Also feels like The Jazz get to offload a bunch of unnecessary contracts that aren't expedient to be rid of. I also don't think Phoenix is in any hurry to dump a solid vet/locker-room guy/mentor. I also would prefer keeping Rubio than dealing with Monroe.

Shooting better from behind the arc than inside it, IIRC. I want a good and proper 3&D PF/C, and everything I've heard suggests that is exactly what he is/could be and basically nothing else (which I'm fine with).
That's almost never a good thing. Mirotic will probably be better than Bender will ever be. And I don't think Bender comes cheaper than Mirotic. PHX is rebuilding and he is a project.

Another no chance they are trading him and he might not even be a great fit anymore but Trailblazers want a dynamic big and a taller wing. They might like CJ more long term.

Favors, Hood and this years first for Lillard.

Truthfully I think Kemba is probably a better fit than Lillard. They are the same age but Kemba plays defense. Plus Kemba would be easier to get since he is being shopped. But Lillard would be a fan favorite right away and we know he would be happy here.

Mirotic also has no defensive reputation, will definitely be paid more, and is a flight risk in a year and a half. Bender would give the Jazz two more years of awesome cap flexibility in case 2019 becomes a thing, and the potential to provide exceptional spacing/lineup versatility.

ALSO, the Jazz could get Mirotic ALSO.

I think Wizs are going to deal someone. They need to make a move. There are a few pieces I would love. I think there is too much turmoil between Beal and Wall. They will trade one of them in the next couple years. I also think Oubre is a great great fit for us. He is perfect at the 3 for us and can even play a little small 4.

Here's your 2018-2019 contender:

Exum / Neto
Mitchell / Ingles
Kawhi / Thabo
Mirotic / Jerebko
Gobert / Udoh

One can only dream. That is an incredible lineup. I think we could compete assuming Exum is healthy playing good defense again and can shoot even a decent percentage from three. If Exum is playing well then we would be incredible. 0 chance of it but wow that would be great. The defense would be amazing.

So now im torn...trade for Bender or just hope the jazz draft. Džanan Musa
