If you had a time machine and could play each team against each other, in a best-of-seven series, who would be the best??

1992:
Guards - Stockton, Magic, Jordan, Drexler
Forwards - Barkley, Mullin, Malone, Pippen, Bird, Laettner
Centers - Robinson, Ewing

1996:
Guards - Stockton, Payton, Miller, Richmond
Forwards - Barkley, Malone, Grant Hill, Hardaway, Pippen
Centers - Shaq, Robinson, Olajuwon

2012:
Guards - Paul, Williams, Westbrook, Harden, Bryant, Durant
Forwards - James, Anthony, Davis, Iguodala, Love
Centers - Chandler

Forgot how talented that 96' team was with all this 92' vs 12' talk.

Same here, until I looked up some highlights from that team, they were as quick and as athletic as this team. Except that 96 team had big's that were worth something... I went with '92 myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if the '96 team played them and won. Shaq and Olajuwon were dominant in '96!

The 1996 team has the best centers while 1992 beats them in the guards and wings. 2012 has a few players on the level of 92 and 96 but the whole team is inferior to them.

Damnnnnn forgot about 96, that team was for real. Shaq and Olajuwon is pretty damned formidable.

Which two centers would you take out of Shaq, Ewing, Robinson and Olajuwon?

I'd say Shaq and either Robinson/Olajuwon.

This year's team isn't very good -- they're not a team, just a bunch of individuals. I'm surprised Krzyzewski has let this team become so selfish -- Kobe has been ridiculous. He doesn't ever pass the ball and seems like he doesn't care out there. He should've stayed home. I wouldn't be surprised if they get upset.

Kobe has looked very bad for most of the time he has played in these olympics.
He played ok in the second half against australia and he played good in the nigeria game (when everyone played good). Otherwise, he has been crap and looks old.

The 12 team would be much better if they had everyone. Like Dwight. He could help a lot with defending the likes of Karl malone

If Howard, Rose, Wade, Bynum, Griffin were all there, then they would make it a good game.

Honestly I see Bynum lasting about 5minutes if that. The 92 bigs of Ewing, Malone, Barkley and Robinson would be all over him and be physical as hell with him. Bynum would get pissed and get himself ejected. Bynum does not have the mental toughness to play with the 92 guys.

Can you imagine Jordan's reaction if Bynum was on his team and got suspended for a set of playoff games. Bynum would need witness protection.

I went with '92 for being the best well rounded team. That said, I think the '96 team could have used its inside dominance to take a game or two from the '92 team in a series.

I think dominance may be a slighty strong term. If any centers had a chance of slowing down Shaq (no one would stop him) it would be all time greats like Ewing and Robinson.

I think 1996 could win a few games maybe 3 out of 10.

2012 would win 1 out of 10 if they got lucky.

Lol at the idea of so many players playing against themselves. How do you call a foul when Jordan is guarding Jordan? Is such a thing even possible? Seems more mind blowing than the Time Machine that got them there.

Because everything has to be based in pure reality. Use your imagination man, damn.
