For me, Burks will be a good sixth man coming off the bench and making difference in a short period by pushing the tempo up but not contributing all over the game ala Jason Terry but he is gotta remember there are 4 other guys around him for passing too. Defense , outside shooting and being able to make assists are critical for his development.Sometimes i feel he is making always wrong decisions for pushing it too much to score. So i do not see allstar potential on him. Also due to his position, he is gotta be more ready to compete against the all stars.
Hayward is the most intelligent one among the youngsters. I feel it not just on the court but also off the court. He is SG for me more than he is SF but even discussing his position is an important clue for his versatility. Good defender, really good ball handler for his position and most of the time he makes the right movement. He is gotta shoot more consistently, attack the rim more and Corbin is gotta let him play with the ball more when the PG is shooting 1st type of guy to heat him at the game earliest. It is for sure that he is gonna fill all over the statistic papers but again i do not think that he is gonna be allstar.
Favors has answered the hopes correctly in his recent games but it is also up to Corbin's decisions. On offense, he is gotta get passes when he is moving. It is his advantage to have quicker steps than most of the big men in the NBA. So pick N roll offense is gonna be his best way to score except garbage baskets on offensive rebounds. But fundementaly, his post up moves or midrange jumpers are lacking of being good to make impacts. So by working hard in the off season, he can be better but not enough to be respected by rivals. His main power is going to be on defense once he learns how to avoid the quick fouls. For now even he seems better offensive player, in the future playoff matches when the game's pace down and being played set offense more, his points are gonna be decreased dramatically.
Kanter is the raw and least effective one till now when you look at the statistics or follow the Jazz matches just by looking at the results. His experince was playing 4 Euroleague matches and 5 Turkish basketball league matches at the age of 16 in 2008-2009 and 8 Euro championship matches with Turkish national team in 2011. So if u wanna add the high school matches, he played 10 matches with the stoneridge team in 2010 until the NBA. That is why the statistics of him are just so superficial. No summer league, no preseason preperation and just 17 formal matches against the serious competition before joining to jazz. His footwork while posting up, rebounding ability and good defense is his arsenal to have chance for being allstar. His incosistent shooting from midrange, inability to pass and inability to dribbling are hurting him so much in fast games. But i saw him many times shooting comfortably from the midrange J and some quick pivotal steps in person when he is in Turkey. But he will never be a good passer for me. So due to his position and the competition at his position in the league, by earning more minutes, freedom on offense and feeling the trustment on himself by the organization he can be allstar for me. That is why i give my vote to him.
