White House blocks NY Times, CNN, BBC, etc, from press briefing

Buzzfeed is utter garbage. Like Alex Jones level garbage but BBC kinda perplexes me. They seem pretty even in their reporting.

(CNN)The shocking decision by press secretary Sean Spicer to bar CNN, The New York Times, Buzzfeed, Politico and the Los Angeles Times from a news briefing Friday signals that, for all its bluster and bravado, the Trump White House is an administration under siege.

In the face of the President's many public misstatements, obvious financial conflicts of interest and troubling ties to Russia, the White House has decided to launch an all-out attack on the news organizations that reliably report on the administration's fables and foibles.

Expect to see the media close ranks and fight for the public's right to observe and report on government without fear of official retaliation. To their credit, the Associated Press and Time walked out of Spicer's briefing when it became clear he was trying to punish selected news outlets.

BTW, the majority of Americans believe the mainstream media, more then they believe Trump. And, no, I won't post a reference for that statement. Research it yourself, or find one of your own alternative polls, lol...
 
North Korea really should stop doing this... oh wait.

Is this acceptable to repubs?

Do we really want a censored press that merely writes crap that Der Fuhrer likes else risk being banned from having access?

Is this really the new norm?

I wouldn't think it's acceptable to repubs as a whole, but probably is acceptable to trump supporters as a whole.

Therein lies the problem.

Where's the repubs in congress? Where's their outrage? Weren't they supposed to act as Dumps watchdog, not lapdog? Who's going to stand for the first amendment? Is this really the type of dictatorship we (even repubs) want?

Have any of you read, "It Can't Happen Here" by Sinclair Lewis?

It's frightening how accurate it is despite being published in 1936.

its a norm, but not new. obama blocked conservative outlets from certain events.
don't fall for the fake news headline that it is unprecedented.

if for 8 years the left is content with a dictator called obama they agree with. not thinking of the future, the day there might be a dictator who they disagree with.

this is the left for you.

it was acceptable for OBUMMER supporters as a whoel they even swept it under the rug including the mainstream media.

dont get me wrong, i am not sure if its right or wrong to be blocked from an event!
you have freedom of speech, but not a right to attend events. so one has to wonder the semantics of it.
after all nowhere in law says it should grant acces to specific outlets.


but i dont care anymore. seriously 8 eyars of obama doing these things.

like obama hacking and spying on journalist he agrees with, which in my book is 100% wrong. but where was the outcry then?

Not only was this single attempt, which ultimately failed, to bar Fox News from a Treasury Department briefing (not a White House briefing) not "swept under the rug" by other media outlets, they threatened to boycott the briefing which lead to Fox News being included after all.

So this was something that on a single occasion the Obama administration attempted to do but ended up backing off from because the news media locked arms with Fox and insisted that it was not up to the administration to determine what news outlets were legitimate or not.

It was wrong then. It is wrong now.

naah i did not.

obama spied and hacked conservative reporters also. so yeah.

when your dictator encroached on the press and sets a precedent and new norm don't come crying that someone else is doing it.

seriously sick and tired of fake news
