What??? Why would I be pissed?? This story is just the one I was looking for. Someone who owned a gun, and helped handle a situation without discharging it - and/or killing someone. It was also a relatively dangerous situation too, and the other person had a weapon. As much as I'd enjoy seeing someone use fists of fury and/or nunchucks in public, I think it's excellent this hero handled it exactly the way he did.
A lot more than we can say for the murderer George Zimmerman. He volunteered for a job looking for a chance to dishcarge his big, bad intimidiating gun, and took the first chance he got. I can't wait to celebrate Zimmerman's death. I may be cynical, but I do believe there is hope our gene pool will one day be rid of the Zimmerman's and his adamant supporters.
Thanks to the original poster for sharing a great story of real heroism. It happened naturally. To Stoked, Trout and the rest of the posters who have a perverse obsession with justifying Zimmerman's actions - this is how it's supposed to be handled. Plus the person even had a knife. Trayvon had a pack of skittles. No one died in the scenario with a gun and knife, but someone did with a gun and skittles.

Neither was Zimmerman. At least not unprovoked. The fact still remains a man with a gun solved a dangerous situation where someone was being attacked without discharging a bullet into the alleged assailant.
But Zimmerman is the real hero to you folks, for the sole fact he did use his gun and kill an unarmed kid in cold blood.

I approve that mentally sound, stable, non-felons with a high moral standard should carry conceal weapons. That is all.
way back in 1968 I heard one too many ad agency pieces doing the gunshot and the dead kid heartbreak blaming guns and inciting morons to turn their guns in to the cops, right after I read William Shirer's The Third Reich which showed what governments do when the people have no guns.
I might go along with an ad agency piece blaming governments and the dead kids that come from them, though.

The banning of AintNuthin/Hopper was one of the greatest days of all time. Nothing will ever bring me more joy. Ever.
I understand the taste of success. . . . or in your case. . . . of blood. . . . can seem exhilarating for a moment. But really, man, you need to raise your sights.
You could "go for the gold" and bring home the bacon and roses, and be your wife's hero. That, according to my wife, would be something truly rewarding.

But lets not go too far off the tracks here. This thread is about how a real hero would defuse a dangerous situation if they had a gun.
Because all situations were you have to draw a gun are exactly the same. Thank goodness nothing different ever happens.
Maybe Zimmerman is guilty of murder. If so he should go away for a very long time. If not then the evidence will support that and he should go free. Let's see what the evidence says.
If you have a problem with that than you do not want justice you want vengeance.
Show me where anyone on this board has proclaimed that Zimmerman is a hero.

The evidence says Martin is dead and was unarmed, and that he was shot dead by Zimmerman. I don't want vengeance. I'm just looking for a reason so many people have so passionately defended Zimmerman given what is plain fact. Forgive me for being compassionate for an unarmed teen who was shot and killed by a neighborhood watchman on duty.

Does the evidence gve Zimmerman justifiable reason to shoot Martin? That is what is in debate, you do not know that any bettar than I do. Also no you do not want justice. I am flat out calling you a bold faced liar. You want Zimmerman comvicted and put away regardless of what the justice system finds.
And before you get on your bull****ing soapbox again know that if the evidence shows Zimmerman did not have justifiable cause then yes he needs to be convicted of murder and put away according to the law. So blow me chump.
