White student union proposed at Towson University

I agree with what you typed. However, what about a white guy fighting against reverse discrimination? My dad, for example, in the late 80's was an auto dealer GM. He was demoted because the state enacted a certain % of blacks must have key positions. My dad, being far more qualified (seriously) was demoted but asked to continue doing his same job description. He fought it. My dad was no racist.

I agree there was a lot of displacement and hurt feelings. Wheneve you disrupt a power structure, some people with power are going to lose it.

Was your father seriousy more qualified than some of the white people who were not demoted? Do you think he would have had the same opportunities to get those qualifications if he had had darker skin? I wasn't there, I don't know what you father deserved or did not deserve on any given job. So, I am in no position to say that what happened was or was not appropriate, justifiable, etc. I certainly understand such experiences left a bad taste in your mouth.

Basically the answer I am gettign is that if you or your ancestors were oppressed than you can have race based groups that are not racist. If you do not then no you cannot not.

Good to know that racism is a white man only disease.

YOu are getting other answers as well, but seem to be determined to interpret them in that vein.

Just so you all know, the original source for this article is a hate-based Christian radio station program that is sponsored by white supremecist groups and a holocaust denying organization.

So if you agreed with the article take some stock of yourself.

I think most everyone missed my point. My point wasn't to disagree with the decision that was made, it was just that my dad fighting to keep his job didn't make him a racist.

I don't think anyone would disagree with that.
