Who Are Dead Men Walking?

So I was, as I seldom am, wrong. O'Neale can't be cut and signed to the Stars. This quote below from Dan Clayton:

"What makes matters worse is that new NBA/G-League rules make it so the Jazz can’t keep both in the program. Since the pair both had guaranteed contracts, they are prohibited from playing for the SLC Stars this season, whether on two-way or standard G-League contracts. So the Jazz can’t simply waive one but keep him involved in the program using a Stars roster spot. Anybody with more than $50,000 of guaranteed salary — the maximum protected amount that a two-way player can get from an NBA team — is not allowed to play on that team’s affiliate G-League squad in the same season. The rule keeps teams from circumventing the $50K maximum2, but it’s disappointing that the byproduct of the rule is that the Jazz will not be able to keep ties to both players."

Bolomboy got cut per andy larsen

Wow. See ya Joel. I loved the idea of having a local kiddo on the squad. He's got a lot of tools, if he can put them together he'll do alright.

Damn... feel kinda bad for Bolomboy... He played really well in pre-season... but in today's game wings are just more important/valuable. O'Neale also played well and deserved his spot. I wouldn't say I'm surprised.

Bad? Jazz did him a gigantic favor cutting him after his guarantee date. Bolomboy has already made way more money then the majority of 2nd round picks in NBA history.

Good decision. Good thing Bolomboy played well in preseason. Someone should pick him up.

I wasn't either... ultimately I thin Joel's summer league hurt him most.

I like Royce and think he can play the wing or small ball four. He's more ready to contribute.

He can't play for the Stars AFAIK, because of his big guaranteed contract with the Jazz.

Yes, that's why I said his dreams were crushed. If he had stayed on the team, he'd just be playing another full season w/ the Stars.

I had read somewhere that the Jazz had gotten with the stars to work out schedules to maximize the opportunities for someone to practive with both squads and still play for the Stars. I'd assume that this would be O'Neale's spot now. Wonder how much they will be able to help him with his shot.

Royce is going to be a Star. Book it!

And by that, I mean a Salt Lake Star.
Not sure who the fifth will be, but Wolters,O'Neale, Griffin and Bradley looks like a pretty tough GLeague group. Wish I lived in SL so I could go to a few games.
