Of course, Westbrook can be a problem. In my opinion, I think we need to let his take 3's and prevent his penetration. He will eventually shoot himself in the foot because he will start taking too many shots which will take PG and Carmelo out of their game.

A comment like this makes me want to smell yours, because it probably stinks very badly.
You want to smell what? I'm guessing underwear which has nothing to do with my post. But yes my underwear probably stink. But if that makes you like them more, cool. I can send you a pair but it will cost you $.

Not worried about the refs. They usually allow more physical play during the playoffs, and the Jazz are a very physical team, so I actually think it will help them out.

It was a touche comment in response to your mean-spirited and really dumb comment.

I take heart from the Clippers series last year. I didn't notice terrible officiating, and the powers that be had every reason in the world to give it to L.A.. I think we'll be okay. I also predict Mitchell is going to shine. He plays best under pressure, which is the rarest of talents.

To worry is not to blame. If you've ever watched the NBA playoffs, you've seen star treatment get out of control. I hope, for Jazz fans and neutral fans alike, that the games are called fairly. However, if the NBA gives OKC the upper hand because OKC vs Houston is a bigger 2nd round draw, what an absolute shame that would be.

I remember the year the Nuggets as the 8th seed knocked off the Sonics (1st seed) then took the jazz to 7 games before they could put them away. That series had some of the worst Officiating in league history. It was the most one sided officiating through all 7 games. I was a boy then, but it sticks in my memory to this day, I'm still bitter how that series was officiated.

With the exception of DJ pushing off on every offensive rebound opportunity and rarely getting called, it wasn't too bad.

I'm only afraid of cold shooting from us.

If we shoot okay we win.
Agreed. as someone (scs maybe) posted in another thread when the jazz have lost since rudy has been back our 3 point shooting has mostly been in the 20's and field goal percentage mostly in the 30's. We shot really poorly in each loss other than the spurs and that one went to overtime and aldridge score like 1,000,000 points.

We just need to shot ok and we should win if we keep playing defense like we have been. And as you have mentioned before, defense travels well.

If Westbrook is inefficient in this series, I think the Jazz win it. George and Carmelo are probably secondary scorers, though either can turn a game or two in the series.

I attended one of those games... in Denver!

I’m not only afraid of this. So many things could happen for us to lose. But generally speaking, I very much agree with the notion here that if we shoot well we’ll win the series. And for me, that’s mostly because I expect our defense to show up more often than not and if that happens, and we shoot well, then I don’t kno how we’d lose outside of a +12 FTA per game differential for OKC or something.

I'm afraid of us passing up open shots. It felt as if we did that a lot against Portland. We looked tight and no one wanted to shoot. There were even times when I was wondering why Rubio passed on a three. First half of the year I'd have never even considered feeling like that, but it shows his improvement and fit with this team.

worried about an engaged Thunder defense. Their offense is easy to predict and Jazz will do fine against them since they have no super skilled, competent pnr players. They have good iso players, but no one can finish against Gobert at the rim so it really limits their effectiveness. Always have to hope for some good luck tho because Westbrook, George and Anthony can hit contested jumpers better than most.
They can muddy up the Jazz offense with their defense, however, if they are engaged and playing intense D. Things might be different tho with Mitchell this year - before Roberson went down Mitchell torched him rather easily - so if Mitchell doesn’t shoot like Portland for seven games straight he could cause a major imbalance in the series. In recent seasons Roberson would always neuter Hayward, and PG13 could do the same. Mitchell is too quick tho. Mitchell will have to shoot well from the perimeter tho because Adams will be a solid deterrent at the rim, and the Thunder might also throw lots of Jerami Grant at Donovan when turning corners in the PNR.

But actually worried most about officiating

Jazz in 7. Go Jazz!

The thunder have been terrible at defense since the Roberson injury and Brewer sprained his knee or something in the last game of the season, who knows what his availability is. Bottom line is they don't have many players they can throw out there that can defend the perimeter to be engaged on defense. The Thunder have to decide weather to slow down Ingles or Mitchell using PG.

I also heard Locke say this morning that the Thunder are last at giving up the corner three. The jazz take more corner threes then any other team.

WE ARE GOING TO DESTROY THE THUNDER!!
