Who could we trade for?

I saw Cy make a comment in another thread that we should take calls on everyone not named Hayward and I tend to agree.

So who is out there that is or may become available in the next three months via a trade?

Let's ignore core guys on championship hopeful teams. The Spurs isn't trading Leonard. The Clips isn't trading Griffin.

But dammit, we need to upgrade virtually every position. Go.

Magic aren't trading Vucevic for anything. They consider him their franchise player. Not even a huge fan of him tbh. He is like a taller version of Jefferson. Can't pass worth a damn and doesn't get to the FT line considering his high usage.

Lance Stephenson: MJ may be experiencing buyer's remorse. He is having a worse year than Burks, but their offense is also trash and I never thought it was a good fit. Not sure if he fits here, but he can play tough defense and would bring us some physicality.

Burke
Lance
Hayward
Favors
Kanter

The bookends suck but that's not too far off (3/5) being a quality starting lineup that plays d and can hit the 3.

Then, come February, if Exum has improved, maybe we look to deal Burke and/or Kanter.

The problem is the Burks isn't a fit in Charlotte either, so I don''t think Charlotte is super keen on the idea of getting a player who is getting paid more money for more years.

The good thing is Charlotte never seems to know what they're doing and they may have so much remorse that they'd do it.

Jeremy Lin?

He had a super weird contract structure when he signed with the Rockets and he is going to make 15 million next year. The Lakers are set to lose a ton of money because of LT with that contract. Can we get him and a 1st round protected (some kind of descending protection) for Burke? I think we have enough cap-space to eat that contract and he is having a good year and could be a long-term piece.

Reggie Jackson

Are teh Thunder going to match on him? I give them Trey Burke, Kanter, Burks, and a future 1st rounder. We would have to take a contract back like Perkins to make it work probably. Not sure I like Jackson or would want to pay him in RFA, but just spitballing some names.

Not bad. Playmaker. No ego. Better shooter than Burke. More size than him. Makes more mistakes and the contract are the biggest issues.

I'd consider doing it but it would really tie our hands in FA next summer.

Dennis Schroeder?

Orange going to get a chub over this one.... Burke/Burks for Schroeder. We would have to figure something out to make the #'s match, but the idea is that Atlanta gets a 6th man in Burks (not seeing one on their team) and a decent backup PG who could grow in Burke. Our reason is buyer's remorse on Burks and upgrading our defense.

Iman Shumpert

Burke and a 2nd round pick for Shumpert. He is going to be a RFA next year and I'm thinking NYC is going to try and go after another super-star with their upcoming caproom from their expiring contracts, so they may not have left over cash to sign Shumpert. Burke gives them a relatively cheap PG who would compete with Larkin for minutes and may be able to develop into their starter long-term.

Shumpert and Calderon

Variation on same trade, just add in Burks on our side and Calderon on theirs. Gives us a vet PG to mentor Exum. He has 2 years left on his contract after this year, but it might be better than the 4 years for Burks.

Sit back and let this play out. Jesus. Who besides the delusional thought we would be better than this considering the ridiculous schedule we have had. There are only two players I really think should be moved and they are kanter and trey.

I'm also not willing to give up a 1st for anything other than a potential star. I'm liking how this draft class is coming together. If we could land another top7 pick their are some intriguing players there. Mix him in with our young vets i think we start sniffing the playoffs next year and are in a better position to swing for the fences for a star player if needed.

Wow. Stupid. Doubt we have any sort of buyers remorse at this point.

Otto Porter Jr.

We trade Burke, Hood and a lottery protected pick (protection never gets smaller for 3 years, if it never happens it becomes a 2nd rounder) for OTTO PORTER JUNIOR!!!!!!!! Gives Wizards a backup PG after Miller's contract is up after this year and a potential sharp-shooter in Hood. We get the best player in the 2013 draft who is going to become a boss in Quin's passing system where he can use his high IQ.
