One thing: watch the local Utah media turn 180 degrees on the Sloan/Williams post-mortem.

That cliche-ridden, illiterate hack Brad Rock has already started pushing pro-Jazz FO propaganda.

Deron. I love Jerry, but Corbin is going to keep a lot of the same principles in place that Jerry had.

All I can say is...Favors better pan out.

Then maybe it's just as well that Deron went. Maybe he had to.

The real question of this thread is whether there's anybody that wants to defend the actions of KOC and Greg Miller over the last 8 months.

Yeah, maybe. Deron definitely seemed to have a better relationship with Corbin though.

I certainly love the new spin: the Jazz had to get rid of Deron, so Corbin's tenure would be his.

Wha? Would Corbin's tenure even exist without the crap that was going on between Sloan and Deron?

That's actually an open question, as I'm really beginning to wonder just what the broader aims of KOC/Miller have been for months now.

It's possible both Deron **AND** Jerry wore out the welcome mat. Their mutual animosity might have been a general corrosive on team morale and welfare, such that their co-departure signals a new era in more ways than one. With Deron gone, it's essentially a journeyman team again. Like in 2003-2004. I've said before that was actually one of the more fun teams the Jazz had, if only because it was great watching a team of scrubs manage a winning season. Meanwhile, let's hope for some nice draft choices.

Deron.

We all knew Jerry was done for the past few years, it was just a matter of time. I would rather have seen us make moves to get better with Deron here. But his attitude was slipping hard this season and it was becoming apparent he would not stick around after 2012. What we got for him was a joke though. Not a lot better than a salary dump imho.

Sloan made that team great.

There's nothing fun about watching the Cavs. Unless you're LeBron.
