Voted THT. I'd like to think I voted for him because I see more of a pathway for him even if he doesn't become a plus shooter and because he's younger. But it's probably because he hasn't been on the team as long. The new object is always shinier.
 
I went with THT because he's younger, but I don't really see much hope for either of them.
 
THT has been listed as a fantasy sleeper by some, I'm not so sure about that atm. Meanwhile NAW's NBA future feels like it has been blasted into oblivion at this point.
 
This feels like a horrible "would you rather?" question.
 
I still think Butler will be better than both of them. He never had much of a shot last year because the jazz thought they were contenders for a lot of the year, hard to look good when you’re not in the rotation.
 
I think NAW can survive on both ends more easily with the right situation. He's much closer to having a function jumper, and he has shown the ability to create turnovers on defense. The shot creator/PnR operator thing is probably done at this point, however. Put him on a team where he can stand in the corner on offense and blitzes a lot on defense and he can be a useful player.

THT also has defensive playmaking ability, but it's tougher for him to find a role on offense without a jumper.

Looking over my fantasy drafts and I actually took NAW at pick 108 in the jazzfanz one last year. Didnt quite work out as good as Scottie Barnes at pick 156. I actually gave him the benefit of the doubt hoping he'd turn it on eventually but he never really did. There is some potential there with this guy but you kind of doubt it will come to fruition.
 
THT gives me the same feeling as Exum when it comes to potential on paper. I'll believe untill he's out of the league (which admittedly could be sooner rather than later...).
 
I don't know who is better, but I can't help but be excited. Never has a team been so replete with guys with such lengthy surnames. Alexander-Walker, Horton-Tucker, Fontecchio, Bogdanovic, Vanderbilt. Markannen's last name is the little guy of the bunch.

I picked THT because he does have some playmaking ability and has always been a hustler on D going back to his one year at Iowa State. I remember his advanced stats such as steals jumped off the page before the '19 draft. With that said it won't mean anything if he doesn't develop some kind of reliable jumpshot. Shooting 27% on 3's isn't going to cut it for a guard in today's NBA.
