Like anything else, conditions change. If the cap was an issue we wouldn’t have taken THT.
Because of THT’s garbage deal, the cap-sheet is actually an issue next year.

THT is wayyyy better than Balmaro.Just want to speak up for Bolmaro here. His size/skillset is intriguing, even though I’m not sure he’s better than even Trent Forrest in the end. He deserves a chance to stick around for longer to see if he has any breakthroughs (basically for his shooting to be more consistent and for him to be more confident as a scorer).
He’s also an example of a player that might be as ****** as THT that doesn’t burn up >$21 million in cap/cash. But at least he plays hard on both sides of the ball, plays good defense, and is unselfish (to a fault).
Offense yeah for sure, but I’d give Bolmaro the nod on defense. The player that’s a better comparison is NAW. They both play good D, have good handles and are good distributors but struggle to generate their own offense. Can anybody tell me with absolute assurity that NAW is better or has more potential than Bolmaro? Cause to me that’s a tough one.THT is wayyyy better than Balmaro.
I kind of feel that way as well, course it won’t happen. I can’t really remember a time when we had so many strong candidates vying for that last roster spot.I would rather keep Bolmaro than NAW.
Unfortunately I think it comes down to money. It's easier to eat Bolmaro's salary as he's only making $2.4mil and NAW is guaranteed $5mil for this season. They can also use NAW's salary as filler in any potential trade. It's probably the same reason we're stuck with Gay on the roster.I would rather keep Bolmaro than NAW.
Easy for you to say as it’s not your Twelve million dollar investment.I've decided... it will be Doke and Gay. Johnson gets moved into someone's exception for a top 55 protected second.
Gay is an amazing tank commander but its going to be counterproductive to have him playing and just stinking up the joint when development minutes could go to Simone and Ochai. Removing Gay and Johnson from the equation means those guys should play.
Just remove the potential distraction... get $1M back in a buyout if you can... if not just eat the deal. It sucks but not gonna change our world one way or another.
Its really the additional $6.8M next year that is the real cost... No one will take Gay into a trade exception... so this year's 6M is a sunk cost.Easy for you to say as it’s not your Twelve million dollar investment.
I’m with you btw, from the outside looking in. The mere thought of that Dick eating up development minutes makes me want to quit following live games.
Maybe it has something to do with Zach Lowe’s insulting assessment:
Perfectly good logic! However, the reason it’s referred to as a sunk cost fallacy is because people don’t tend to think logically when there’s invested money involved. Its really the additional $6.8M next year that is the real cost... No one will take Gay into a trade exception... so this year's 6M is a sunk cost.
If he plays like he has in preseason his trade value won't increase at all... no need to throw away those minutes because of a sunk cost.
I wish it were that easy so we could say goodbye to Gay.Don’t you have to pay them anyway? If so, it would be better to just cut whoever you don’t want on your team.
I understand Saben Lee and Frank Jackson are available.Cut Butler it would destroy the ability to rest Conley and would cause the maximum chaos to the team. Next year you can find a another backup scrub.
