Ok, so we had our predictions for how much of improvement will our players show in the summer league. The consensus was that Hendricks and Brice would improve the most, while Kessler - the least. We saw them playing, so who actually showed some clear progress and who was essentially the same player?

This time I decided to add Bazley (since Lofton was in the original poll anyway and there was enough talk about Bazley in SL). Everybody can cast two votes: for the most and the least improved player.

My vote: most improved - Keyonte. He played with confidence and clearly wants to be the leader (at least to be leading all young player on the team). His drives were more decisive and he showed an improved ability to draw fouls. Kessler also played with way more confidence but his game was essentially the same.

The least improved player was Hendricks. He showed nothing new and even his familiar 3-and-D role was played rather poorly overall.

Key looked stronger and it showed as he finished through contact better than I remember him doing last year.

Least improved was Brice (Lofton close second). I didnt expect him to be as turnover prone as he was. Looked just really lackadaisical with his handle. It was concerning for a guy who's best NBA skill is supposed to be self-creation.

Walker set some actual screens in his games. Sensabaugh shot it very well. Hendricks was blocking a lot of shots and his shot prep (feet) looked better. Keyonte became a foul merchant. Bazley played like he should play and was very active.

Lofton played like ***.

Memphis ended up being one of the best SL teams this year, so Sensabaugh/Keyonte getting worked defensively by them isn't as bad in hindsight.

Not saying SL is harder than the NBA, but players get 10 fouls and refs let guards hand check more.

Pippen Jr. Is a better defender than the majority of NBA defenders they'll face this year.

What's interesting is that just a couple of weeks ago folks on Jazzfanz thought that Kessler and Keyonte would show the least improvement. Now we acknowledge that it was exactly Keyonte and Kessler who improved the most. And Hendricks and Brice, who we collectively expected to improve the most actually showed close to zero progress.

In short, despite our endless blabbering and high opinion about our basketball knowledge, we know nothing and cannot predict the players' development even for several months. Not that it would ever stop us in sharing our ignorance.

Brother 16 people voted in this stupid poll.

Didnt notice big improvement tbh. Key last year was better. He was making plays for everybody but this time he was a ballhog. 5/21 fg vs memphis. He was foul baiting all the time took 19 FTs. I doubt refs gonna award him the same attempts during nba games. Hendricks not much too was expecting another level since he got nba minutes already. I think he plays best next to a star. He wont carry the team but will be an important piece. Brice he was turnover prone. He need to work on his handles.
