TFP just mentioned him in the Jazz forum. There are only a handful of posters who when I’d see there name I’d just keep scrolling, but he was one. Not even sure about the arguments he had, but I found the fake persona and try-too-hard linguistics a bit much. But I know there have been alt theories galore over the years regarding him, so let’s hear them. Someone refresh my memory with your best arguments.

When talking alts you have to start with trout.

No one here has since demonstrated that same level of commitment or passion for the blues.

aintnuthin posted for a while on jazzhacks after he was banned. I don't see any reason to think he was some other regular.

Except, of course, some posters think he was me, despite my relative ignorance of the blues. In fact, I have to give thanks to aintnuthin for his tutelage thereto.

Yeah, I'm of the opinion that Ain't was an alt of one. He was certainly "alternative" but there was only one of him.

This thread makes me think of this for some reason.

Hah. I’ve seen like 1-2 episodes of community. But this jingle is really nostalgic:

And I don’t know why, but it always reminds me of this Christopher Cross song, and vice versa, even though they aren’t similar in terms of tune:

But Aint did live in the same town as One Brow, which OB admitted, and did post on OB's website, so at the very least, One Brow did know him. Now, I don't want to get into this again; if OB wants to deny being Aint, fine. I only tried to track him down because of harassment I was getting from Aint on this site. I guess I wasn't the only one getting harassed because he was shortly after banned. Btw, does anyone know who Maneesh is? I have a feeling he might be Aint.

He claimed to live in Mascoutah, which is not far from me, but I have never lived there. He commented on my website, just like any other person can do, but never posted there. My only knowledge of him was as the person commenting here, at JazzHacks, and on my blog.

As usual, you distort the facts. This will be my only response to you in this thread.

I didn't distort. You just confirmed what I said. If I was wrong about you being him, then so be it.

I rank the probabilities of everything, by habit. Most conspiracy theories have non-zero, if small, probabilities of at least some marginal attachment to truth.

The OB/Ain't unity theory has a zero possibility.

Ain't simply could not be so OBtuse. Dedication to any point of conversation was the antithesis of Ain't. Ain't "danced like a butterfly, and stung like a bee."

I was educated about the blues by following his lead. My Ebonics/Midwest Hobo lingo was nothing to his.

I read the entire OBtuse/Ain't debate on both this forum and in OB's blog. OB's mentor made me out as OB's troll, but Ain't passed the test there as genuine.

Ain't hooked me up with an Illinois physics professor who was willing to discuss the subject personally. A professor who turned out to be quite interested in the blues and who could talk the jive.

Long live Ain't. May be be the eternal mystery.
