Who is currently the biggest waste of talent in the NBA?

I wanted to limit it to now so the posters are on a more level playing field to respond. In other words, spy cam probably never saw Derrick Coleman underachieve so keeping it to active NBA'ers makes it easier.

Go.

I wouldn't call Oden a waste of talent. He can't control the injuries he's had. To me, wastes of talent are guys who grossly underachieved based on their supposed skill set, athleticism, and projected value in the league.

My first thought was Monta Ellis. There's no reason he should be such an empty-stats guy. Zach LaVine is gonna own this distinction one day.

I'll keep thinking...

You are right, he cant control it. Talent is still wasted. Find another one that has so much that got wasted so completely.

From the perspective of the Jazz Ostertag and Fess could have been special if they had any desire to try.

Fess could have been a NBA player. A special one, no. He had a huge body that was somewhat fluid, but had no natural skills or IQ.
