The Utah Jazz are no longer considering Jim Boylen for their head coaching job, according to sources.

Boylen was previously viewed as a top candidate and is friends with Dennis Lindsey.

Quin Snyder, Alvin Gentry, Adrian Griffin and a mystery candidate remain the leading candidates for the Jazz, who have kept the fourth coach tight-lipped.

If you vote "other" say who it is.

Just because they are being so tight lipped about that 4th coach I'm thinking its Stockton. Could also be Messina as they are waiting until he is available. Makes me wonder if these three interviews are a smokescreen.

Talkin to this friend at work. I'm convinced it's Stockton because he has no agent thus no one to leak the info. And also he's very private.

Probably Boylen. He gets such a negative reaction though from the fan base so they are just trying to throw every one off until it actually happens.

Stockton...

If reports of Stockton having a 2nd interview got out and we didn't hire him.... All hell would break loose in the SLC!!!

The mystery candidate has to be someone still coaching(why was Lindsey in Europe for so long) or someone that if thier name was leaked and wasn't hired it would look bad on the FO...(former jazz player or coach)!!!

I voted for Stockton (cause I want him -- literally (yeah baby!)), but as I think about it, dude wouldn't have to interview. Pretty much just take a phone call.

Stockton wouldn't need an interview. I still think it would be weird to pass your statue on the way to work every day.

I agree with your comment about the mystery candidate still working somewhere. But I'm not sure I understand the part about knowing more next week. CSKA likely has two more weeks of playoffs. Van Gundy could just step away from ESPN. As for Griffin or Snyder, they wouldn't need to give notice.

Exactly, I also think if reports came out about him he would quickly deny it and stop the interview process. He's like a dog you want to pet but you can't scare him off to quickly.

Yes Stockton would need an interview... They would want to make sure he is ok with the direction they are looking to head and have him explain his coaching philosophy...

Also if it is a Euro coach... Being closer next week could mean the eliminating of a candidate or two!!

I don't want Stockton..........at all.

I'd rather have him be an assistant for a year or two so that he can build a true identity as a coach.
