Who is Worse? Marvin or CJ

I may actually say Marvin. At least CJ had an occasional stand-out game. Marvin is just mediocrity night in, night out.

Then again, Marvin never really ever hurts you like CJ would at times.

Tough question. But i'll go with CJ just because he thinks himself Kobe and sucks so bad, however Marvin's name means mediocrity just like jazz.

CJ.

Marvin's job is to rebound Big Al's misses. Marvin isn't even involved in the offense. Another mental error by Corbin. If we really want to use him why not try posting him up? Or have him come off screens for mid range jumpers? He isn't Matt Bonner who can just sit out by the 3 point line waiting for the kick out.

Lets actually use Marvin before we cast judgment.

CJ is more aggressive, but makes boneheaded mistakes.
Marvin is not aggressive so he can't make boneheaded mistakes.

Classic case of- If you don't try, you can't fail.

At least CJ was entertaining; he was a goat but at least a flashy one who played hard. Marvin is so passive and his passivity rubs off on the rest of the starting lineup, making them stagnant, causing these slow starts we've been seeing. When Marvin was out our first unit played better. I would say we need to start Hayward but I feel we'd be wasting him in this appalling starting lineup.

The big change that needs to happen is Favors for Millsap, and we need to stick to it. We can't make that sub because it'd be a political disaster in the locker room. But it's the elephant in the room.

Marvin "The Wet Bandit" Williams... Marvin "The Soiled Bandit" Williams. We learned never to get excited about a player whose previous fan base loathed him. This happened to Cleveland with Miles. Listen to the other team's fan base. Atlanta was excited to get rid of him; we should have been wary.

You always knew when CJ was on the court as you'd constantly hear the clank of the missed 3. As for Marvin, i dont think i've ever seen him on the court so I am yet to evaluate the guy.

Agreed. I believe Marvin averaged around 14 points off the bench with Atlanta last year. But then, Atlanta didn't have a black hole center that the offense revolved around, and he was, presumably, actually integrated into the offensive system. Corbin's system does nothing to involve Marvin, never does anything to free him up for shots, never runs a play for him--he just hangs around the 3 point line waiting for Big Al's leavings. Marvin isn't the brainless chucker CJ is, and he is actually a team player, so he gets fewer shots than CJ did/does. Marvin is being underutilized by the Jazz, and Corbin's system is wasting his talents, of which I think he has plenty. I'd like to see what Marvin can contribute when he's something more than an afterthought in the offensive system.

Then they traded him for a backup PG that no one really wanted that much.

What is Corbin suppose to do with Williams? There is a point in time where it's up to the players to carve out their niche in the offense. Hayward has done it, Foye has done it, MoWill did it, Demarre did it, Kanter has done it. Why can't Williams? Answer: because he lacks the aggressiveness/desire to try.
