Who is Worth Keeping on the End of Bench?

The thing is tho you can get a minimum guy for like 800K on a non-guaranteed deal vs the 1.7 Oni is owed next season. Doent sound like a lot, but under the LT that's like a 3 million dollar difference (guesstimating)

It would save 2.4M under the luxury tax which is worth it in itself but with how sloppy DL has been around the edges I’m not holding my breath.

Keep Hughes, Doka, Forrest

Cut everyone else.

For those of you wanting to keep thomas, seriously? The dude is too short and his windup is way too slow. Look at his shooting percentages this year. He’s closer to Jimmer than Korver.

"Sarcasm Font Engage".... I'm sure we will find some older players who want to come to Utah and play with Mitchell and Rudy and fill their bench role and help us to the next level. Ya know like the Clipper and Nets etc.....

Here are the types of players floating around that might be attractive to the Jazz: Darrun Hilliard, Jarrell Martin, Tyler Harvey, Dakari Johnson, Wayne Selden Jr., Justin Patton, Sylven Landesberg, John Mooney.

Floating? Maybe they should be flushed

Oni needs Xanax or a sports therapist or both. He shoots like he has a gun to his head those nerves are out of his control

Thomas is ultimately Joe's replacement, sorry to break it to some of you guys but he's absolutely staying.

I love Forrest, if he can at the very least develop a midrange game he's going to be deadly.

Udoka is a Zion-light player so he's staying. He's also Favors replacement so....

Everyone else could go or fight for end of the roster spot but I wouldn't keep all of them unless we absolutely had to.

I don't get DL's love for Oni. On the Stars last year 19-20, he statistically performed worse than JWF, NWG, Brantley, and Trevon Bluiett. There must be some super duper metric us mortals are not privy to that he shined in.

DL sees things that only he can see. You may not see these guys hoisting Larry O'Briens, but you'd see something just as valuable, if you could see what DL sees.

Thomas and Joe share exactly one similarity.

The Jazz should be able to turn Jarrell Brantley into a role player like PJ Tucker or possibly Jae Crowder. I don't expect him to be more than that at this point, but he gets into a stance and defends, he can move the ball, and he can box out for rebounds. He's got the ability to shut down a driving lane with his length and ability to react. I think he fell behind Niang in the rotation due to the Jazz's over-the-top emphasis on shooting, spacing and gravity. I think Brantley will come back. The Jazz are waiting for him to shoot at least 38% on 3s.

Oni's role model should be Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. I don't think the Jazz are ready to give up on him.

I think the Jazz are going to give Hughes big minutes and a big-time role in Summer League. I think they're going to let him play with the ball in his hands. We already know he can catch and shoot. He's got some ability to play in pick-and-roll, and his iso game has a smidge of Joe Johnson to it. I think there's a lot there to work with. He just fell victim to not having a summer league or training camp last year.

Yep, and Joe is like 800 years old. Thomas is going to be his replacement.

Only way this does not happen is if Thomas is packaged in a trade for salary purposes.
Thomas and Joe are completely different players... Thomas is not an NBA player. Such a weird trade.
