Bad one's. I know.. A very powerful and thoughtful response. I have had them for years. Back spasms can last week and even months. It can be very debilitating. When I served in the Armed Forces I hurt my back and had to be discharged after two more years of non-stop pain. I'm good now, but still have to be careful how much I strain it. Hopefully for Dr. Favors, it will be a short lived experience.

I would assume when you are a giant back spasms are more serious too.

Locke said in the radio that gobert is probably coming back first. He said he was doing some really intense drills today and looked ready.

Yep let's all hope it isn't too serious. Cause a bad back is definitely something that can cut his career short.

When do we start seriously worrying about Favors? His back problems are nothing new, and backs often don't really fundamentally improve.

That trade that people discussed last summer that involved favors and the #12 pick for the #4 pick looks pretty good right about now.

If that trade was a real thing (probably wasn't) that was actually discussed and had happened then the jazz could have picked porzingas and then went hard after a guy like millsap.

Lots of ifs involved there but Millsap, Gobert, porz rotation would be pretty sweet.

right, when Marc Gasol had bad back spasms the Grizz shoulda just shipped him off for a 2nd rounder.

I actually think that porzingas and paul millsap are > than a second rounder.

Thats just my opinion though

I hate to admit how much I've been thinking about that. And not because Favors isn't a catch. But Porzingis is just... I don't even know. Made in a lab? Everything the Jazz (or any team) could conceivably need most in a single player?

What if they also just found a way to get Myles Turner or Bobby Portis also? And if Lyles is the bait that gets talks going (as they were rumored to dig Lyles' innate talents and size), maybe they wouldn't have to include Favors? Burke + Burks, another 1st rounder (protected or projected mid or later), and take back Calderon? What if you had Reggie Jackson's rights? Useful maybe?

IDK. Got silly there for a second. Sorry bye

Imagine a burks + burke, #12 from last year, future first, for New York's #4 last year and calderon.
We draft porz, and get wes matthews or demarre carroll in free agency.

Exum, calderon, neto
Matthews/carroll, hood
Hayward, hood
Favors, booker
Gobert, porz

But but but but then we miss out on Trey Lyles. Lol

All kidding aside. If Trey Lyles turns out to be good, and it's looking like he will be a floor stretching, playmaking big, then this makes Favors somewhat expendable, right? There will be other drafts to do this in. I assume a much more improved Lyles would fit in better in Quinn's system then then Favors.

Been thinking about this for a few days now. I liked Lyles before the draft and I've liked what I've seen so far. If and when he figures things out, will be great for this offense. Not hating on favors but he could end up getting us a very sweet haul in a trade.

Unless teams are scared of his back now.

I really hope he gets healthy and stays healthy

Making too big a deal. Sucks that he's been out this long, but I'm not too worried about it.

I hope you are right.
I'm very worried about favors health however

Favors is our best player. If Lyles gets to be a decent player, you keep him and add him to a big rotation of favors and gobert. That is a big, versatile lineup. Add in a few minutes of small ball with Gordon at the 4, and favors/Lyles playing center, and that is a unique team that matches up with a lot of lineups.

We are pretty set at 3-5 if we can stay healthy. We need more from out guards. Burks/hood are the only kind of sure things we have there, but can they even play full seasons?

Until we know more about Exum, point guard is the biggest need though. Trades should be focused on guards more than anything.

Agreed. I am very concerned on Favors (and Gobert),

I hope he is not the type of big that misses 30 games a year. That is not helpful.
Same goes for Gobert.

Favors for Millsap was a **** idea then, and is a **** idea now. Nothing has changed in that regard. Favors for Porz would be an amazing trade for the Jazz right now, but a very risky move before the draft, since the guy not developing would mean the complete failure of this rebuild.

Good post.

I'm pleasantly surprised by what lyles is doing right now.

I'm not surprised but pleasantly correct about how withey is playing.

When healthy we should be pretty solid at all positions, including point guard, but point guard/shooting guard should be the area of focus
