After Gobert, I honestly think you could make the case for any of Rubio, Hood, Favors (assuming good health), or maybe even Ingles as the 2nd best player on the roster as it stands now.

A couple of metrics for each over the past season:

Rubio: 16.8 PER, 6.1 WS
Hood: 12.4 PER, 2.6 WS (Previous season was 14.1 PER, 6.0 WS)
Favors: 15.8 PER, 2.7 WS (Previous season was 21.6 PER, 7.1 WS)
Ingles: 12.4 PER, 5.0 WS

Personally I think it's Rubio, especially because this team will need somebody to step into a play-making role, but Favors could have a huge impact if healthy.

I'm curious what others think. Who will be our 2nd best player and why/how?

Hood will be our leading scorer. Rubio will average close to a double-double. A healthy Favors is an extremely good player.

This is kind of what prompted the question in my mind. I think the separation between these 3 might be pretty slim. I think it will be interesting to see who opposing teams decide to focus their defensive efforts on. I would think probably Hood gets a lot of that attention now.

wow hard to believe Favs is 1 year removed from a 21+ PER season. all i can picture is the shell of a man we saw last year.

I don't think there's gonna be much of a question at the end of the season. Ricky will probably be around 12-9 which to some may not seem that much due to the low scoring, but his effect on games is just so big due to the intangibles he brings that he'll be there with Rudy as the most impactful guy when it's all said and done.

Favors will have a monster year, and many will post comments saying we should resign him.

He will sign a 4 year max deal with Orlando.

I think Hood and Rudy will lead in points, but Rubio will be extremely good running the offense, so that's who I picked.

I'm thinking Favors if healthy. So probably Rubio. ;-)

But I'm an optimist, so I voted for Favors in the poll.
