You are simplifying project 2025 as trump just wanting a cabinet help him be successful in his ideas and vision.

But..... reclassifying tens of thousands of merit-based federal civil service workers as political appointees in order to replace them with Trump loyalists.

So you are fine if trump installs loyalists throughout government to help him be successful in his ideas and visions. You know, things like overturning elections, shooting protesters, and banning certain religions to travel to the United States. Ya sounds great!
civil servants refused to support Trump during his attempt to institute a Muslim travel ban, his effort to install a new attorney general to assist him in his attempts to overturn the 2020 election, and his call for the use of lethal force, saying "When the looting starts, the shooting starts" during the George Floyd protests. So now we get civil servants who will support trump on all of this and more! Yay freedom yay America!

The Heritage Foundation is not getting money from Trump. They get money through political donations, and in that too they are competing directly with Trump. Trump is straight up better at bringing in money.

I won't speak for him but I'm pretty sure he was speaking about the future appointees. Especially since that is what the discussion has been regarding all day.
I doubt pence will be the VP this time around. He didn't go along with the plan. Trump probably learned from that. The next VP will be more loyal to trump. Guaranteed.

Pence was chosen for VP because trump had never been in the political arena before. For him to get elected he needed someone from the establishment on the ticket with him. He don't need that anymore. He could have Steve bannon, the my pillow guy, Charles Manson, or Adolf Hitler as his running mate at this point and not lose any supporters.

Some people do. You perhaps. You’re a person. I don’t think it’s fair to forget many do not want it. On the other hand, I believe I read yesterday, that ~60% of the electorate have never heard of Project 2025. Hence one reason for the crash course being pushed by the Democrats at the moment. I don’t believe Democrats are 100% lying, though. Again, some of my favorite legal minds don’t agree with you at all, on that score. Federal ban on abortion is off the table at the moment, if I recall.

The Supreme Court expanded presidential power-the Supreme Court did not expand presidential power. I guess we can both issue blanket statements and believe what we wish.

Project 2025 should be worrisome to all Americans. But, it’s the case that a certain % of the electorate favor authoritarianism anyway, favor the imperial presidency. So there will always be a % of the electorate they prefer the Strong Man. I would expect Trump to take full advantage of what the immunity ruling and Project 2025 delivers.

And the thing is, politics used to be described as “the art of compromise”. But the people behind Project 2025 are not in the least bit interested in talking to anyone who does not agree with them. Taking after Trump, no talking, their way or the highway. One was willing to threaten violence. Sooner or later, maybe sooner if Trump is sworn in with Republicans controlling both houses, and the Supreme Court being in the Imperial Presidency camp, a genuine civil war will ensue. A rogue Supreme Court and all 3 branches MAGA’s hands, that is not going to be pretty.

I actually agree with much of your overall take, since you’ve posted in GD, i was shaking my fist at the uniparty when Vietnam was tearing the country asunder, I’m reminded of my youth. If it were up to me, Columbus would have stayed home. But, as many problems as I do have with Western civilization, (and prefer to listen to the Kogi people of Columbia when judging where mankind stands at the moment: we are living wrong, completely out of harmony with our mother, the Earth), nonetheless, despite being no real fan of modern society, I am still able to see absolutely no good coming of putting such an intellectually incurious man, who rallies supporters via hate and anger, including identifying “the other” upon wish to place the blame for all his followers ills, into power again. Extremely good post. Trump can have the cabinet he wants. He nor Biden should have the entire civil service of the federal government the way they want. Those should remain non-partisan. We used to fill the civil service with partisans in the 1800s. There’s a reason why we’ve moved away from the spoils system.
