I don't think anyone is suggesting Jrue would be enough to get us a ring. But rather that he would be enough to set us up for becoming a contender. After getting Jrue, we would still have more than enough assets for adding another star player in the next 3 years if we could get Jrue to stay. His contract situation is the hard part here. This is a Conley situation all over again. Sure, Jrue is a nice player and will instantly make us better, but he isn't enough to get us a ring and will take enough assets that we then stall out on adding anything else meaningful for 3-4 years, so we get to be good, just never good enough, all over again, in time to see us drop Lauri and Kessler and whoever else for assets so we can be having the same discussion 5 years from now, after having had several frustrating playoff exits.
No to both. Trust in Ainge. He'll use our assets for someone better. Just give him time. No need to jump on the first good player available. That feels too much like asking out the first girl that smiles at you because you're on the rebound and missing out on the girl of your dreams.
I got to say, Portland did this Lillard thing in style. Great job.Oh well. Let's move on.
They will not doe… they are bonkers delusionalHeat fans can stfu now about their offer being equal or better.
I really never had hope that it would happen, but it would have been awesome.
It’s the hope that kills me.I really never had hope that it would happen, but it would have been awesome.
Oh well, it's THT season.
Tbh, i didn't really had hopes that could happen because it just felt the price would be too much to make sense for us (even i agreeing with the idea of trading for Jrue)It’s the hope that kills me.
In other words, we're tanking after all. JFC.I don’t believe this directly relates to this as a potential deal, but I’ve felt that we’re rolling with what we’ve got for now. Collins is opportunity cost and will continue to be. I hope I’m wrong, but don’t feel that I am.
I had hope but I have main character syndrome and project it onto the Jazz. I think the package I outlined was close to what they got. Not convinced Williams will be a huge asset unless he can play 20-25 games with solid health. If he does they could flip him for a pick. Brogdon is maybe worth some seconds. Portland did pretty well but the picks are so far out.Tbh, i didn't really had hopes that could happen because it just felt the price would be too much to make sense for us (even i agreeing with the idea of trading for Jrue)
Even then, when i saw what it cost i was like Damn, that was something
DA is always looking and trying… way different from the previous regime that liked to wait to see if the phone would ring. I have no doubt we’ve been in all these convos.I don’t believe this directly relates to this as a potential deal, but I’ve felt that we’re rolling with what we’ve got for now. Collins is opportunity cost and will continue to be. I hope I’m wrong, but don’t feel that I am.
When Boston ***** the bed and Jrue wants out, we will re-engage this talk.So glad to see this Jrue talk die. Now we can focus on building this thing correctly.
