What's new

Who's getting bought out this year?

Andre Roberson would be a great guy to have. Little expectation, come in on the minimum, slowly ease him back. Would be a dog to throw out there for 6 minutes a game in a playoff series when you need a couple stops. Also think end-of-game with less than a minute to go and you’re doing hockey subs. Helps to have that against the LeBrons, Kawhis, PGs, Hardens or Durants.

I have bad news for everyone... I got in a time machine and saw the future... couple excerpts from the DL presser after the buyout and trade deadline.

"we were very aggressive in looking at different trades and took a few phone calls but we really like our guys and nothing great shook out."
"we were very aggressive in looking at buyout guys but didn't find a match out in the market"

We will not make a trade or pickup anyone. The only move I could see out there is us ducking the tax somehow but I'm not even sure its possible. I want to make it clear... I don't think this is the wrong approach. It is going to be tough to find something better on a minimum than what Niang, Oni, Morgan, or Shaq could bring. We should kick the tires on anything interesting... if Griffin or Love buyout were to happen (their teams would be dumb to do it) then sure lets look at that. If Houston couldn't find a deal for PJ Tucker then go for it. Ariza? I'd have to see if he's in shape.
The cake is baked brah

They will sign 10 day deals if they clear waivers... they would have to guarantee the contracts... so this gives them injury insurance.

Not a big fan of Andre. Basically another Shaq Harrison. Fun fact though is him and Clarkson played HS basketball together.

Anyone that wants Cousins go ahead and look at his stats before declaring your desire... You are welcome. He's uhhhhhh not great.

I really think we just end up treading water to duck the tax. They will sign some 10-days to meet the minimum roster spots.

In all my years being a Jazz fan I've learned they will never sign that low tier flyer you like, they will get one you never heard of instead.

Well, I hate saying anything that I don't know first hand, and I hate accepting something without having first hand knowledge, but that's his reputation.
He's a basic bitch.

I think I'd rather play Oni. If we pick someone up I prefer the guys you have named like Roberson and RHJ that are really good defenders... even if the shooting is no bueno.

GR3 is a rotational 3D wing who is two inches taller and longer than Royce. He can guard big wings, and he has a few different ways to score. I've liked him for the Jazz for a while.

The way I see it, the Jazz are going to do every move they can on the fringes to get under the tax, which is a valid use of resources as long as they stay on the fringes and don’t require moving draft capital to accomplish. That means that they’re not grabbing anyone on this market.

For that reason, I prefer that they can’t get below the tax and realize that early enough that they pivot and do strengthen the roster. Because I really think this is the year of all years. Ever. Those moves on the fringes can make a meaningful difference.

Wow. Get dat guy.
Sounds like a Jazz guy: leading the NBA in total +/- for any player whose under 400 minutes so far this year.

Oh wait: GRIII's leading in the bad sense. His team has lost by 131 points with him on the floor this year.

(Just joking a bit; Jazz could still like him, but that seems like a strike against him)
