Why arent we fast breaking!

We are an extremely young team. We are 12 deep and we want to get them all playing time. Why not run and push every second. In addition to this getting our young guys extra time on the floor it should help us to win some games because with the shortened season teams will be tired and not want to run with us for entire games.

You cant fast break when the other team scores on your crap defense almost every time down the court. You can only really run when you get a stop and rebound

i don't think winning is a priority for corbin. he ranks conservative "stability" above everything else, which is a reason for bell getting so many minutes imo.

because we don't want to lose by twice as much.
Agree. Now let's see...if Jazz take 20-24 seconds for each shot and hold the other team to an average of 11-15, that's 1 shot for each team every 35 seconds, or roughly 21 per team each quarter. Figure around 50% FG's for opponents, with a few of them 3's. And add in a handful of FT's. So assume around 25 pts.

Jazz shoot less than 40%, with a few 3's and FT's. So let's say 20 pts. That's 100-80 over 4 quarters. Sounds about right for expectations.

We need to get into our sets (that don't work) faster. We run a LOT of unsuccessful sets that then lead to frantic Isos. And we could have plays to eliminate the Isos but we don't do that, either. Ty has to have "two" offenses for the front and back end of the clock.

When I say run I mean push the ball, get into early offensive sets asap. Even on baskets by the other team you can still push the ball up the court and with lazy NBA players you will often find yourself in 3 on 5 or even 4 on 5 type situations. In my mind this beats ISO with BBH (Big Black Hole). It should also help our guards get a few easy shots to get in rhythm.

He has to be a black hole everyone else can't score. Do you want to see any points on the board. Big Al is the only guy creating. Yes that does include Hayward doing his AK impersonation. I don't mean missing shots because yes he does that. But, by driving out of control jumping in the air and throwing some crazy trash pass to someone else with 4 seconds left on the shot clock.

Because we need to get stops and rebounds first...

Our guards don't play defense.... And Al is one of the worst defenders in the league....

Doesn't make for a good mix.

I thought we were supposed to have changed our defensive strategy. It still looks like guards our cutting right up the middle like YOUR MOM!! What do you want Big Al to do people??? Score all the points and stop his player and the guards players also??? Come on when are we going to get a strategy that each player plays their man and stays infront of them.

This year should be all about getting lots of learning experiences for the 4 youngest players, and getting more promising young players. I'd like the tempo picked up on both ends of the court. I'd rather see them lose 140 - 120 than 100 - 80. It's not all about knowing the plays, you've got to encourage these guys to develop their pure skills. They'll do that better in a faster paced game IMO.
