I read now that our limp, coward, wussy POS has canceled tariffs on China for electronic items.
Why though? Anyone know? Especially from MAGA, I’d love to know.
I thought tariffs were:
1. Beautiful things that were going to fund the government instead of income taxes. Seems to me that taking tariffs off electronics means a huge loss of revenue for the government. How are we supposed to pay down the national debt without all of this tariff revenue?
2. Tariffs weren’t just supposed to fund the government, they were supposed to punish companies so that they build here. Well, how are all those beautiful iPhone jobs where fat Americans sit on their asses for 16 hours a day screwing in lil thingies so iPhones and teevees work if the Chinese still have these wonderful jobs because Donald wet his pants over this tariff? If Donald is right and tariffs will bring back jobs then shouldn’t we jack up tariffs on all Chinese electronics?
3. We’ve been told that not only are tariffs supposed to fund the government and punish companies for offshoring jobs, but tariffs are supposed to punish countries! Like the tariffs placed on Canada to stop the wave after wave surge of drugs, the tsunami of fetanyl coming in. Well, if we’re leaving Chinese electronics exempt, then we’re certainly not bending China to our will. In fact, it looks quite the opposite. Did Xi just bend Donald over?
I just want someone here make sense of all this tariffs stuff. Cuz I’ve been told at least 3 different reasons for having them. And I’m at a loss for Donald losing his courage so soon after instituting them. Did he think undoing the last 40 years of globalization and technology advancement was going to be undone in one week?
Cmon MAGA, let’s make America great again! And if that takes a depression or two, let’s do it! Our children and grandchildren will reward us if Donald is right about all these many reasons for instituting tariffs. Reup the tariffs to max! Let’s ****ing go!!!
