Why no Love for Trevor Booker?

Alot of people throw is name around in crappy trades, and treat him as if he expendable.

I think he was an awesome addition to our team. Especially after how he handled Kanter. But not only that, the guy was pretty good I thought. He seemed to get better at shooting the 3 as the year went along, and better as a player, and a good fit here. Maybe one of you stat nerds can tell us how he was 1st half compared to 2nd half.

He's a guy that I think is comfortable with his role on the bench. You need guys like that. He is still pretty young (27).

Also, he's not tall, so he fits in with you small ball lovers theme.

Most of all, the guy is a bad ***. A Jazz guy. He likes it here, and likes the team. He ads toughness to the team and character.

I really doubt he's on his way out. I'd even offer him a few more years and lock him up.

Why do some of you want to trade him so bad?

He's a great plan B if we can't get something better done. I like him but if we get something better I'd wish him well and send him off.

He has no handle, he isn't an outside threat, he can't post up, he is a limited defender and limited rebounder.

Love his attitude, but just isn't that good.

He is Jeremy Evans on steroids.

Now we are talking.

I love me some Jeremy Evans.

Overall Booker is an OK backup PF.

He has great athletic ability and energy, but he is kind of inconsistent from a skills standpoint and can be very spazzy with the ball. He is just an average defender and he can't hit FT's. He is definitely a position that can be upgraded.

The bottom line is that Booker is a good backup, but the catch is that his contract is perfect for trading or use as an asset for DL.

It's not necessarily that we should shop to get rid of Booker, but if we could get a good player for our team we could use Booker and his contract if necessary.

I like him and want him to be with the Jazz long-term, but at a lower $ value than $5m. Can they not pick up his $5m option, but re-sign him for 3 years, $11.5m?

I'm pretty sure:

We could also sign a free agent and then pick up his contract, after. We can use his 5 mil in cap space to get a guy as long as we do it in that order.

he can't be a starter, if you wanna build a contender. He can come off the bench and give boost in certain games, thats it

I like Booker, but if Utah wants to make a trade, they have to send back salary in most deals, so you have to pick your poison. His contract was structured as a trade asset from the beginning. Unless you'd rather trade someone like Burks, Booker and Burke are most likely to be involved in a trade.

Literally no one on Jazz fans dislikes Booker. Actually I'm pretty sure everyone ****ing loves him. Emotionally he is the perfect player. In game he makes some of the most exciting plays.

I absolutely love Trevor Booker. I would love it if he remained on the roster and played a role for us this upcoming season.

But he is expendable if we find a better player available.

So we renounce booker, sign green and have 3 nba bigs, (being generous With lyles here) like 6 wings, and 5 or so pg's?

It's looking like we are going to sign Pleiss.

Also, if the worry is about Burks/Hood getting minutes, we can always play Hayward at PF some.
