Why Tomic > Kanter

Between Gobert, Favors, Tomic and Booker. . . all they need is a stretch 4 to have a fully complementary stable of bigs. Defense, rim protection, size, agility, ability to play offensively above the rim, rebounding on both ends, mid-range shooting, elite passing, creative scoring, energy off the bench. . . the only thing really lacking is a guy with legit 3 point range and a way to better match up against small ball teams.

You sir, are looking for Kevon Looney!

Easiest question ever. Tomic gonna play for the Jazz, Kanter is not gonna play for the Jazz, therefore Tomic > Kanter all day long.

How many passes first half of next season are bouncing off our players chests or backs when they arent ready for passes like this?

No argument from me but what good is Tomic if he isn't in Utah? At this point and at his age, if Tomic is not in a Jazz uniform by September he becomes irrelevant.

What? How does that line of thinking make any sense?

So if he comes over in 2016 instead of 2015 that is the difference from him being relevant and being irrelevant? That makes 0 logical sense.

His passes are very sneaky, the guys need to learn his game but he can be a very valuable piece in our offense.

I think it kind of makes sense if you assume one of two things:
1. he either really wants to come- in which case, if the Jazz want him and are willing to buy him out, he will come... or:
2. he doesn't want to come and all he's doing with those statements is use us as leverage for his new contract with Barcelona(Barcelona have a team option this summer on his contract)

In a weird way it seems like this is the year when it's going to be decided if he ever plays in the NBA. If he really is intrigued by coming over and wants to make the step, and if we indeed want him over, I don't see any reason why he wouldn't come. On the other hand if he's using us as leverage, to me it would look like he's trying to secure a long term contract with Barcelona(i.e. he doesn't really have any interest in moving to the NBA).

I dont get it. If he's such a good passer why does he only have 40 assists this season? Hes about 2 per game compared to Kanter putting up 1.6.

Kanter is even a better defender than this guy and much better scorer. Tonic better be willing to come off the bench for 2 million, 3 million max. Id rather bring over the other guy or just resign Enes.

Exactly. There is really no concern over playing time. He can't expect to be a starter with any NBA team. Utah has now cleared away Kanter and I think playing Favors 30-35 mins at PF is the ideal way they want to go instead of having him continue to be the backup 5 behind Gobert. If Tomic comes over, he can get 15-20 mins. If not, the Jazz probably will make a move to acquire another big,

This is the year we either see Tomic in a Jazz uni or he becomes a "Peter Fehse" throw in to make a trade work down the line.

Sure, I'd rather have Enes too. But he wasn't willing to be a backup. How come you guys can't understand that? And he wanted max money.
No, Tomic isn't the player Enes was. I don't thinkl anyone would ever argue that. But he's also not going to demand a ton of money. Even HAD Enes accepted a role as the third big, we couldn't afford him. Gobert is going to get $20M+. Favors likely gets around $16M on his next contract (hopefully). And what does Gordon get? Simply can't afford to pay a third big $15M-$16M

The thread title is Tomic > Kanter. What are you on about mate?

Dumb question, we have length for miles, could we mask Tomic on D well enough to play huge--Fav, Tomic and Gobert? Can you imagine the matchup problems it would create on O?

Yeah right, resign Enes at the team's chemistry's cost. Only a dumb bloke would do that.
