The bummer is that Tibor Pleiss really wants to make the jump.

Let's not kid ourselves-- Pleiss is so, so, so much worse. I wonder if this shuts the door permanently, or if there is still a chance the Jazz could buy out his contract.

Ouch. He couldn't even fake like he was interested in the NBA for a few months while we traded his rights to move up in the draft or something?
 
I have never doubted. Tomic will never play for the Jazz.
 
Truth is if the guy doesn't want to compete against the best we don't want him on the team. Tough pill to swallow. Signing an upper tier free agent becomes more important.

I really don't blame him. He is making tons of money, is a valued member of the team there, comfortable in his life there. Why not stay? It is the easiest path and he must know he isn't coming here for anything more than money or a championship, and he knows that the ring is a long shot no matter what. He isn't going to come here and break records or anything. Why not stay put? Probably a smart move for him personally. Disappointing for us.
 
****, I really thought he would come over. Earning potential is so much higher over here and Quin really liked him. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be. I wonder if we traded his rights to NYC if his debbie downer wife would move.
 
Just once again proves that wives are the killers of all dreams.
 
Probably has a lot to do with Gobert and Favors being the starters. He knew he was going to be sitting on the bench a lot

He plays around 20-25 MPG in Europe. It's not like he would get that much less playing time. Probably around 18-20 mpg here plus major minutes in the case of injuries.

I totally get this. It's one of the big reasons (besides the money) that Carmelo Anthony decided to stay with the Knicks. His family was happy there.

If you want to bring a guy like this into your organization, you roll out the red carpet for the wife. . . then you sell him and his agent on it. Such a shame. I think he'd have been amazing for the Jazz, would have loved it here AND been paid tons more than he'll make in Spain.

Oh well.
