Wiggins vs Parker

I'm with Spazz. Parker has that feel for the game that Wiggins is not showing. Parker looks like Kobe, Wiggins like The Wet Bandit.

can you imagine the 'rig' talk when the lottery balls just so happen to send the lds prodigy to mormon-central? i think i'm calling it now, we finish last in nba, and pick 2nd -> Jabari Parker

I just don't see why they don't do the lottery in front of cameras...

This is exactly why it is almost certain that they tamper with it. The last four or five years have been very fishy to say the least for some of the reasons cited already but also the Pelicans with the #1 right after the NBA sold it.

I don't watch a lot of football, so this might be a naive thing to say....

But I feel like Jabari Parker vs. Andrew Wiggins is very similar to Andrew Luck vs. RGIII

The big difference is that we were able to watch Luck and RGIII play for a few years. Also, RGIII wasn't even in the discussion until later in the season, Parker Wiggins has been a debate for almost a year before they even played a college game.

I would call it a perfect match. This is what I'm hoping for :P

There are 1001 combinations that can be drawn. If a team gets number 1 pick and then one of their combinations is picked again, then they have to reshuffle and go again. Basically, it's impossible to have an exact time estimate. They used to do the lottery show during halftime of a game, and when it went to a half an hour show, there was no real reason to change since the NBA goes to great effort to run the lottery by the book. Plus, since they draft for the first pick, then second, then third, the NBA wants the drama of a countdown, which they can't do if they shot the lottery live.

Here's the actual lottery that took place.

Worse is if Wiggins says he won't play for Jazz and demands to play for LA. Just like Kobe and Charlotte. I am not saying Wiggins has the ego like Kobe but agents have a funny way of "convincing their clients" to follow the fame and money.

The Lakers are by far the most hated team in the NBA. Yeah they have a ton of fans but there are also a ton of people that want to barf every time they see a lakers jersey. I think wiggins would make more money over his career if he played elsewhere.

If lebron went to LA he would be hated by the rest of the NBA fan base. If MJ went to LA same story. For all of the success the Bulls had most fans didn't hate them for it. If we aren't in the playoffs we can get excited watching the spurs vs the heat, but many people don't even care to watch LA in the finals anymore.

No talk of Julius Randle? He looked dominant yesterday (23 points 15 rebounds) and could very well be the first player selected come draft time.

What? This makes no sense. On a down year LA was playing on national tv opening day and will be playing on Christmas.

I didn't used to be a conspiracy theorist but having just watched this video it's pretty obvious that their plan is to bore everybody to death and then just do whatever the hell they want. Also, that number 9 ball is a seriously aggressive athlete! It found it's way into the tube first on 3 out of the 4 draws. That can't possibly be by mere chance, right? I hope that they use those experienced ping pong balls next year (rather than bringing in newbies) and that the Jazz own every combination that begins with the number 9.

I think Parker might be a very dangerous NBA prospect. He's a 6'8" wing/PF. A tweener. Lacks the explosiveness that wings must have yet lacks the size for a PF. Is he D-Will 2.0? Is he Thomas (who went to Kansas and who cannot seem to get any PT in the association)? Or Beasley? Is he that Ohio St tweener drafted by the celtics whose name is escaping me? Is he Jeff Green? None have set the world on fire. Or (best case) is he Melo? Who... Again, hasn't set the world on fire.

I think I'm more on the Wiggins train even if Parker has a better college career. You must consider what it takes to be successful at the NBA level. Everyone here fell in love T Burke and the Jimmer from what they did at the college level. Unfortunately, we are finding out once more that college and the NBA is completely different. Even without Burke's injury, I failed to see him look even like a shadow of his former self. In the NBA, guys are bigger and much more athletic.

We must focus on who will be the better NBA player, not college.

From what I've read, Wiggins is very athletic and won't have any problem playing the 3 at the NBA.

Take Wiggins, unless he truly is a bone head.

No one wants Randle bc Kanter-Favors. It has nothing to do with talent.

Best thing for Jazz would be to trade down out of Randle unless he looks like a future HOFer. Trading Kanter or Favors for a wing would be harder.

I'd trade down from Wiggins as well if I could get two for one.

Not in my opinion, drafting on perceived upside is risky like the stock market. Of course you take the one that will give you the best return... but you better be dang sure Wiggins truly does have more "potential" than Parker if through a season of college ball he doesn't actually perform better. I would take the data from the year over a higher vertical. Plenty of players were drafted because they had more potential but never reached it. Smoke and mirrors man... draft the dude that can play... not that you think will be able to play.

Marvin Williams anyone?

Is Parker less or more explosive than Hayward?

Asset management > ermagerd look at that dude jump!!1!!

Randle might be the most dominant offensive player in the draft, especially if he shows he has some range during pre-draft. I like he defensive potential.

That said, I think defense is what sets Wiggins apart from Parker. Both Wiggins and Randle look to have better physical tools on the defensive end than Parker.

From what I have read, correct me if I'm wrong people, Parker is a more athletic version of Paul Pierce.
Ty I think they're nearly identical. I love the Pierce / Parker comp... and I loathe comps in general. Parker is Pierce with a much more polished inside game and better rebounding instincts.

Randle hae definite range. He's 3/3 on 3's thus far but you can just see the confidence and the effortless shot.
Dudes an animal... I'm only putting him behind Parker because I think he'll be slightly easier to guard (less crafty) than Parker.
