John Wall just received 5 year 80 mil extension. I'm sure Favor is following that, I'm afraid he will demand similar contract
I wish there was arbitration boards that could decide extensions for players between years 3 and 4. Both the player and the team can decide if they want to do the deal or move on to restricted free agency. Under this circumstance Favors would get $10 to $11M and John Wall would have only gotten $8 - $9M based upon production. In that situation John wall would have waited for restricted free agency thinking he could get more and in Favors case I think both sides would agree on something like this.
Unfortunately the Wizards stink so bad that they foolishly set the high bar early for a player who has produced very little thus far and he is getting a Max deal based only on potential.

Not likely. He seems pretty down to Earth. He didn't get Rookie of the year, and he's already been traded once.
Now, I bet he'll get 10M/y, or close to it. Being his size pays.
Wishful thinking. He's a starter and an impact defensive player. if he ONLY gets $10M, it's because he's valued as a third big. Jazz will be paying at least $12M unless they decide to trade him.
Jazz will have to pay him max or close to max to keep him.
Because he's done what to dictate that value? I love the idea of Favors as much as the next man, but right now an idea shouldn't net a max deal.
