If there can be some sentences mentioning Favors getting 16 mil per a year, it means Jazz will play final in the play offs and he will be all star, most improved player, best rebounder, blocker, most double double guy this year too.

Favors is going to have a huge year this year, and deserve that contract. Favors is an 80 million dollar man.

If the Jazz pay him that, then they will doom themselves to mediocrity.

It doesn't matter if he wants 5 years, $80 million. I don't see any way he gets that kind of money. IMO, the Jazz should offer him an extension for around 4 years at $10 million per year right now. He's set to make $6 million this year and $8 million next year on his RFA qualifying offer. If he doesn't take the extension, you let him hit free agency next year and match the contract. That means he has had two solid seasons as a starter to gauge his value. If he earns a max contract by then, great. Otherwise, let the market dictate his value. So many guys thought they were going to make a killing this year only to have their expectations dashed.

If there are legitimate conversations about Derrick Favors being a max guy, it means he's been playing at a Roy Hibbert level. I'd happily match his max offer if that's the case.
