We all know how much this team loves their veterans. Josh is about as big of a chucker as they come, yet he still managed to score in double digits yesterday. I am fearing that Corbin will start Bell and Howard at the 2 and 3, further reducing minutes of almost all of our youth on this team. What is the likelihood of this happening?? Im praying that it is astronomically low.

Well, Gordon is struggling at SF. It would make sense to start Howard at SF and Hayward at 2. And trade Bell for bag of chips.

I am worried that you may be right. Ty saying he was getting a better idea of who he wants to start last after Howard got a lot of minutes and played fairly well indicates that, along with Bell getting his designated "veterans" minutes.

Howard has been playing in his old form. I say Jazz give him a huge extension to make up for underpaying him this year. I'm thinking 4 years @ 9 to 11 million each.

Howard may have scored some points last night, but it took him way too many shots to do it.

also what was up with that ridiculous flagrant on James Anderson?

I'm hoping that he has no idea about our offense since the Jazz have had very few practices and that he will tone down his chucking when he knows the players and system a bit better. I would start him and Hayward for the wings (unless Hayward continues to struggle). I'm absolutely fine with that flagrant foul. He seemed to be going for a hard foul on his arms, but the guy never brought the ball up to where he was swinging for. He showed some hustle and fire (7 bds). Most of the rest of the team looked like dead fish.

As much as I bag on Corbin, there is no chance he would do something as stupid as starting Bell and Howard together. If D-Will was our PG - maybe I could see it. But since Harris is our PG and not a three-point threat, I just can't see a case where he'd put a starting lineup on the court that didn't have one legitimate three-point threat.

If Hayward is ever removed from the starting lineup this season, it would be the final straw for me. I'd absolutely lose it and do something so crazy like write a handwritten letter to the Jazz front office. I'd probably say I was a cancer patient who only had a month to live and my biggest wish was to speak to the head coach. Then when they accommodated me, I'd bring a recording device and interview Ty asking him to explain his logic behind certain decisions. Then I'd put it on youtube, and it'd go viral because anytime someone films a retard and puts it on youtube it gets millions of views (i.e, that lip synching midget with glasses, rebecca black, that fat kid who sings about cupcakes, etc). The whole world would be laughing at Ty and, perhaps then, it would force KOC's hand in kicking his *** to the curb!

Go Jazz!

Howard has been chucking, yes, but he's also been a lot better than Raja and CJ. He at least brings energy and plays solid defense. The other two do absolutely nothing.

I'm actually starting to see Hayward as more of a 3. His foot speed makes it hard for him to defend a lot of 3s, let alone small 2's, and it's going to be easier for him to add muscle than add quickness. The Jazz badly need a small guard who can shoot. Maybe Burks is the answer (although I think, with Hayward initiating the offense from the 3, Burks is better suited as a 1). It sure would be nice to still have Wes. Oh well.

Howard is going to be the Vet that the Jazz thought Raja would be I think.

I think Howard does a ton for this team. He is constantly moving and cutting on offense unlike everyone else. He plays very aggressive good defense. Takes hard fouls when he does foul, and plays with a toughness and attitude that we severely lack.

He does take bad shots but I'm ok with it at this point. Part of the reason he takes those horrible shots is he gets the ball and the entire team is just standing there and not moving. At least he tries to make something happen. I think he will take less bad shots once the offense improves and players start to move more.

our best line up is
Harris
Hayward
Howard
Milsap
Favors
Hopefully Ty figures it out.

This

Howard's not 100%, but he's got a ton more energy than Bell and plays better defense than him. Hayward's natural position is at the 2 and you should always try to pair up Hayward and Favors.
Finally, don't ever pair up Favors and Big Al. Big Al gives up layups on the defensive end and then Favors has to foul. On the offensive side, Favors never getsthe ball (let alone anyone) when Big Al is in.

Favors and Milsap and then Kanter and Big Al is the best. But Kanter and Big Al need to play against the bench.

I liked the way Howard played defense last night, and didn't even help the guy up. That's the kind of toughness the rest of these guys need.

Plus when they showed the replay, Josh didn't even touch the guy..... and clearly was going for the ball.
Not a flagrant.

Hell you never know, maybe Josh Howard will be the guy that finally speaks up for this team and tries to be some sort of a leader.

Hayward cant guard a 3 but you want him to guard 2guards,lmao. Try to trade him while he still has value. I know you utah people want your great white hope but he is not it period.

If he does... Then Ty Corbin's missed completely the point of this season.

The Jazz's management need to make it clear to Ty, you won't be fired for losing THIS YEAR. You will and should however, be fired for not playing and developing the younger players.

If the Jazz continue to have to keep paying him, he's not gonna be fired until his contract is over.

Heck, they couldn't even bring themselves to stop paying Sloan every time his contract was over, even when he had thrown his in-game coaching to the wolves--er, the matadors (Boozakur et al) ...

Extensions like that are reserved for Raja and Raja alone.

Agree. If Burks is the real deal then Hayward's future is at the 3. Howard is here on a one year deal to show he can play and raise his value with another team. The young guys should not be sitting just so Howard can do this. Winning a couple of extra games is not the point of this season.
